Springfield Eye Specialists

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Bartels for several years, and one of the main things that I appreciate about him is that he takes time with us, answering all our questions and addressing every concern. As for Springfield Eye Specialist overall--they are the best. Front desk are always welcoming and helpful, and the Optical Shop people are so helpful and HONEST--especially Angie. I never feel rushed. She is simply the best.

Always greeted with a smile. I have not encountered a single grumpy person there ever. Comfortable waiting area although it is a very rare occasion if I have to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes. When I’m taken to an exam room things start immediately. They don’t seat me then 30 minutes later show up to get started (unlike some places I no longer visit). Dr. Bartels is great. He is the only doctor I have seen there but I’m extremely happy with the treatment I receive! He explains clearly and listens intently. Making eye contact is important when communicating in person.

My appointment was on time. The technician who checked me in was very courteous and explained what she doing before she performed a procedure or applied any drops. Dr. Slinker was efficient and thorough and explained the results of any test and exam in terms that were easy to understand

Dr Slinker is the most thorough and knowledgeable eye doctor I've seen in 40 years of wearing glasses. He explained everything in detail and answers any questions you might have and all in layman's terms. I followed him from Smith Glynn clinic to the new building

This was my second visit to Springfield Eye Specialists and both times I was seen by Dr. Zack Bartels. My first visit was an urgent one and they were able to see me that day, thank goodness. Today’s visit was more relaxed - just a basic eye exam. The wait time wasn’t too long and all of the staff were friendly and professional. I could tell by the way the other clients related to the staff and each other that this is a warm, relaxed atmosphere where everyone is valued and cared for. Heather did the basic pre-exam and she was professional, knowledgeable, and kind, as was Dr. Bartels when he completed his part of my exam. I know I can trust this group to treat me fairly and answer any questions or concerns I may have. I am grateful that I chose Springfield Eye Specialists for my eye care needs and I highly recommend them for people of all ages.
