I am always greeted by a friendly staff member at the check in desk. I take a seat and usually 5 min or less another very kind a professional staff member greets me and preps me for Dr Yazdani. Dr Y is a very kind Dr who is very busy but he gives his time to the patient to ask questions and he answers them. The surgery center and other clinics have all been equally kind and professional. The only concern I have at the moment is regarding billing procedures. I paid in full day one for both eyes to have multifocal lenses placed knowing the VA would only pay for one lenses not both. So I was a bit shocked when at the time I was billed roughly 2500 per eye out of pocket knowing VA is paying for services for use of surgery center and everything else except 1/2 of each eye. Today I was asked for more money because we scheduled my other eye. Knowing I already paid for this procedure in advance. The clerk checking me out asked for additional money. I explained I already paid. She said all she knew was the dr told her to collect more. Mind you I had my second procedure on my first eye and it’s been nearly 3 months since first eye was done and he keeps promising me he will take care of it and I will have normal vision. The purpose of multifocal is so I won’t have to wear glasses any more. Now with new schedule made for other eye I’m going to discuss with the VA about my having to pay an additional 150” per eye for the dr and anesthesiologist to use the building facilities. In my professional mind I was quoted the cost of entire procedure and paid for it, why now are they asking for more money. I just need to check because something does not feel right financially. If I am obligated to pay use of facility fee how much did VA pay. Bottom line the first eye is still not clear vision. I can see but it’s blurry at some points. So now he wants to do PRK on my eye so I want to find out from Va whose footing that bill. I have to wear my glasses a lot because my r eye is still very poor vision and taken lense out of L eye in order to somewhat balance my vision. If I don’t wear them I get horrible headaches and severe light sensitivity. I really do like the Dr too. I just need to figure out the finances. I’ve forked out of my pocket 8k. None of this explained to me by Tx city Eye Dr. only it’s time to deal with my cataracts. And someone will call me.

The only good part of my visit was my brief interaction with a receptionist when I checked in. The technician dilated my eyes without telling me what was happening. No one mentioned that I needed someone to drive me home. Later, Dr. Tran came in and he was dismissive of my issues and did not solve my problem. When I asked him what was causing my issues, he said, "I don't know", and turned back to his computer and began typing. There was no empathy in this office.
