Dr. Stang is as good as it gets! The most comprehensive and thorough eye exam I’ve ever had while not being rushed through like a production line. Bonus—-the front desk staff greet you with a smile and make you feel so welcome. (When does that happen nowadays?). Top notch and highly recommend Stang Family Eyecare.

Dr. Olesak and the whole team at Stang Family Eyecare are amazing! They always go above and beyond to make sure my eye needs are met. They can get me in when I need something and provide excellent care with a smile! It’s refreshing to get real, personalized care, it feels like a small-town doctors office in the best way. I couldn’t be happier to be a patient of Stang Family Eyecare.

Nice and friendly staff. However, now they are requiring tests to be done and they charge you for it. I have found another reputable eyecare place that does not force you to do these tests every year and who does not charge for it. This is called “shame based healthcare“ and when providers tell you they’re going to dump you because you are not taking all the tests they’re forcing you into. I have a choice and what I do with my health and my body, thank you.

For 11 years I was a patient of an eye doctor down the street from Dr. Stang who recently retired. So I tried Stang. The appointment went fine and I ordered a new pair of glasses with progressive lenses setup for computer use. I got them and couldn't see a thing, but they told me to give them some time. After a week I gave up and went back. They agreed to set them up as regular use glasses, which is what I wanted in the first place. Right away it seemed nothing had changed, but I stuck it out a week before I went back a third time. This time a different assistant helped and admitted that higher quality lenses were used in my old glasses. I asked if that could be the issue and offered to pay the difference. They are now better, but I don't see anywhere near as well as I do with my older glasses. I did contact them again, but I didn't receive a very friendly response and was told that anymore changes to my lenses would be at my expense. Something like $300 per change. Having had glasses with progressive lenses for over ten years, I can't think of why this process would not have been any more complicated that with my old doctor. Bottom line, with insurance they received about a $1,000 and provided a pair of glasses I keep in a drawer because I can’t see anything. On the bright side, the office is clean.
