My mother is a current resident of this facility. Finding the right place and getting her settled was a top priority for my family this summer. After a lot of research and visits to rehabilitation centers, my sister and I were lucky enough to find Sunset. We knew from the moment we walked in, this was the place for her. The Administrator, Bob, was actually the first person we spoke to. The Admissions Consultant, whom we were scheduled to meet with, was wrapping up with something else so Bob offered to show us around. He introduced us to the therapists, nurses, and social worker. We walked through the building and outside on the beautifully maintained grounds where there was a vegetable garden, paved walkways and a gazebo. We watched a round of BINGO, one of the many activities conducted daily, along with Social Hour, Manicure Time, Art and Crafts... My mom has been there 2 months now. The facility has been short-staffed, much like many of the nursing homes as of recently, but they still manage to care for their patients, pick up the phone when I call, and respond to requests for little things that I've asked for. My e-mails are always answered and the staff is very helpful and kind. I have no issue with giving this facility a five star rating!

My mom was a resident at Sunrise Nursing Home from December 2024 to July 2025. She received excellent care. The nursing home itself is an older facility and a bit dated. The rooms are small. But it was evident that the staff cares about the residents there. They would often stop in just to say hi to her and to give her a hug, even if they weren't assigned to her that day. The nursing home itself did not have that "nursing home smell" that many facilities we had been to had. I am grateful for the care and attention she received during her final days.
Understaffed, dirty, dogs in a shelter get treated better. Clients are left to sleep in their urine for hours. They are given baby blankets to sleep with and sometimes no blankets. They have so many state violations that are not corrected. If you have a family member in one of their facilities get them out!!!!
After visiting many nursing/rehab facilities, the difficult decision to place our mother was an easy choice at Sunset. We are only on day one, however we feel like family already. We have family who works there, and Bob is amazing! Beau already knew my mother and I feel extremely confident that he will work with her so she can be the person she was a year ago. The nurses, CNA’s, activities, and the pure comfort everyone has shown us so far is amazing. We have had some really bad experiences, but today I felt comfortable leaving my precious loved one in the care of these amazing people! Don’t let me forget… the entrance, the case worker, and the residents were all so helpful and friendly. Oh! And I cannot forget the maintenance staff who went out of their way to make my mom’s run exactly the way we wanted it! We have heard a lot of talk in town….. and I have to say…. Of all the facilities I visited, Sunset is where I felt most comfortable.
The therapy department is so attentive to the patients and their needs at Sunset that I can’t say enough good things about them for how they are treating my friend/“adopted” mom. The whole staff in general is utterly amazing as well and they are so very helpful! My friend lived your typical rehab/nursing home horror story for 13 months at another facility and I told the social worker at the hospital that particular facility was off the list immediately when he mentioned it when my friend was still in the hospital! I am so very grateful that I had spoken up for her and she got sent to Sunset!! They are actually doing great therapy sessions with her!! My friend was actually discharged today from Sunset Rehab and Nursing Center after she received the care that she needed! I would highly recommend/encourage people who need physical/occupational therapy, or a nursing, facility to consider Sunset in Boonville. The staff is amazing!!
