I’ve probably seen over two dozen optometrists in my life, and Susie is by far the most thorough, thoughtful, helpful, knowledgeable, and practical of them all. I’ve had issues with my prescription for most of my life, but in the past I would usually just accept whatever the doctor prescribed and learn to live with it. Susie completely changed that. She empowered me with a much better understanding of how my eyes work and helped me see why I was having issues with prescription strength and astigmatism. During the session, I felt like I was learning so much more about my own eyes. She explained both the big picture and the small details in a way that genuinely changed how I understand and use my vision. For example, I now better understand why my eyes can feel strained when I wear certain glasses. Even if the vision seems sharper, it can also cause me to overfocus and strain my eyes, which chips away at my comfort and leads to fatigue over time. Susie is also incredibly patient. I went back and forth many times, asked a lot of questions, and never once felt rushed or like she was losing patience. I also got the sense that Susie really understands the physics and math behind vision and is able to use that knowledge to narrow in on my specific issues in a very practical way. She’s an incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful optometrist, unlike anyone else I’ve seen. Truly the GOAT of optometrists, and someone who really stands out even among other highly rated places.
