Dr. Cumings was amazing. She was excellent with my toddler, he is neurodivergent and can struggle in new environments and physician offices. Dr. Cumings was very playful and patient with him. Besides the eye drops it felt like a fun play date rather than a medical exam. I truly appreciate her attentiveness to my baby boy and his sensory needs. Dr. Cumings truly has a way with children and I recommend her to any parent specially those with littles who have special needs or simply in their crazy toddler era. The front desk receptionist that helped me was also very nice and welcoming. I was concerned about some reviews I had read but I am pleased to say I experienced excellent care from everyone.

Dr. Amber Cummings is amazing. The way she explains my child’s vision issues to both me and my child is simple yet thorough, helping us better understand the condition and its causes. She is also wonderful with kids. My daughter genuinely enjoys her visits and feels comfortable discussing all of her concerns with Dr. Cummings. I also appreciate that Dr. Cummings listens to me and takes a conservative approach to treatment. She prioritized eye exercises over prescription drops or a stronger eyeglass prescription, which I believe was the correct and appropriate decision for my child’s specific situation. I feel confident that we are in good hands and that my child’s vision issues are being managed thoughtfully and effectively.
We pulled out of care at Proliance The Children & Family Eye Doctors, after initial exam, for two reasons: 1) It took 8 days to receive the visit notes via snail mail. We had the receive the visit notes via snail mail, because the app they use shows nothing but errors for accessing appointment notes and documents. When I called in to get the visit notes this was my only option for receiving the visit notes. 2) Photos cannot be shared securely in the app. Our doctor requested photos of our daughter’s condition via his personal phone. While we trust Dr. Lenart this is a patient privacy violation. Dr. Lenart was fantastic. We appreciated his concise manner and that he walked us through everything, but the systems that are supporting his care, or should be, are just not there. I recommend a better app or at least make sure it’s working so that information sharing is fluid and seamless.
I have seen Dr. Cumings for two eye exams so far, and I have had the best experience with her in this office. She is always so thorough and answers all of my questions. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful. They also have a great selection of frames and many options for lenses. Love it here!
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE!! From the staff to the doctors(Dr Lenart) everyone is so full of himself and rude, like they own us. We brought few months old and had horrible espeiece throughout: 1) First we met the receptionist who was so entitled that she couldn't talk in a normal manner and more than a few words. We thought it's fine and didn't want to read too much into it as we are here for the doctor 2) We met the doctor and he immediately started mumbling and mumbling really fast. We asked to clarify and he got visibly irritated in repeating himself. 3) Then his phone rang loudly and he took it right during the visit. Speaking about his patient and his upcoming surgery, right as we are waiting and sitting in front of him 4) Then he put some drops in babys eye and said he will be back shortly. 10 mins and we are still waiting in the room with a loud tv on. We went to receptionist to check whats going on and she said "oh doctor didn't tell you that it takes usually around 30 mins"..we were like can we switch the tv off and she was like you can come out of the room and wait. Just Wow 3) The doctor came and started mumbling jumbling. All the time he was so condsescnssning and rude that we were just taken back..Was barely understandable but kept saying oh that's what I said just now when we asked to repeat 4) we came out of the whole thing that this was a waste and we need to reconsult. But that's not the end. They charged us some additional fees for eyesight testing which was not needed. I asked why is it charged and asked the doctor why was it done He said " oh it is is for testing eyesight ". We said we were not here to test eyesight. And he was like "you ask a lot of questions" and " it is still needed". Ofcourse I paid the money and got out of it as there was no point in arguing to these fraudsters. Meanwhile the receptionist was giving me looks as if we are committing crimes by asking quesrions on superflous charges. I made the mistake of going to Dr Lenart even after reading bad reviews online. Please take this review and other similar reviews into consideration. I wish I would have listened to other people sharing their experiences.
