The Eye Center has a caring and friendly staff. And more importantly has excellent and experienced doctors. I am a glaucoma patient and have been using and seeing this practice since 2013. Unfortunately my glaucoma will never go away but with their care, it has been stable all these years. In all this time, generally having an appointment every three to four months, I’ve never had any issues with billing. I know they have multiple locations and many doctors. I have used two locations and two doctors. As background for my comments, Warren is my go to location and Dr Zhang has been my doctor for the past few years. She is knowledgeable and is excellent!

The staff was helpful and pleasant. The real difference is Dr Susan Carter. I had never seen her before and yet I felt completely at ease with her diagnosis and suggested treatment. She was very thorough and took time with me and although she was personable and approachable, she also presented herself as a skilled professional. I was considering a second opinion but there is no need for me to look elsewhere.
The billing department of this eye center is either not honest or fraud. I have Medicare / Humana PPO . Every time I went for eye exam the co pay is $40 which is fine and I paid every time. Yet months later they sent me a statement that there’s additional charges . January 2025 I have cataract surgery on both two eyes at another facility. Before the surgery I have to pay the co pay and deductible first. Since the surgery happened in the beginning of the year the deductible will be applied. Yet in March 2025 I have the after surgery eye exam they charge me a total of $188.69 for deductible and other charges. I didn’t pay because the deductible should have been satisfied in January cataract surgery. Come April2026 they sent me a statement for past due. All of the sudden they add $170 for 11/26/24 eye exam. All along in 2025 I was never notified of any charges for 2024. So I called the billing department why there’s a sudden charge of $170 . The lady name Swati claimed that because the insurance didn’t pay so they charge me for that. I only went to this office for regular eye exams, why wouldn’t the insurance not paying? If it’s unusual procedure (which I never have at this office) wouldn’t the center get prior approval from insurance before the visit. As I said I only went there for regular check up, never have any unusual procedures. Besides throughout the 16 months in between I have never been notified there’s a charge of $170 for 11/26/24 visit. Now all of a sudden they claimed I own them additional $170 . I told her I will call both Medicare and Humana for their fraud charges.
Dr. Firestone is a great doctor. I was able to get an appointment quickly to followup on concerns and questions I had regarding my eye care. The only slight complaint is the wait time can be a bit more than I like.
Had aomething in my eye. I figured they had 5 doctors someone coule hejp since i was in pain and it was on the way to work. Afrer giving my info to front desk person and waited for 10 min she noted she doesnt know whree to fit me in the schedule. No suggestions so i walked out. Hippocratic Oath means nothing since pain doesnt count. Dont count on office to go to doctor and ask if an emergency can be handled.
