I’ve had the privilege of seeing Dr. Boyd Robertson for the past six years, and I truly can’t say enough good things about the care he has provided. Six years ago, I had a scary and traumatic experience with one of my eyes. Before finding Dr. Robertson, I had gone to the ER and was prescribed the wrong eye drops. This was also during COVID, when many offices were not accepting new patients, which made an already stressful situation even more overwhelming. Dr. Robertson was able to get me in, quickly identify the issue, and provide the care I needed. His knowledge, professionalism, and willingness to help during such a difficult time made all the difference. Since then, he has continued to take excellent care of my eyes, and I’m incredibly grateful for everything he has done for me over the years. I genuinely would not trust anyone else with my eye care. Thank you, Dr. Robertson, for your exceptional care and for giving me such peace of mind all these years.

I've been going here for my optical needs for decades! The staff is one of the friendliest and accommodating you will ever find. I tend to be very hard on my glasses. The staff knows me by face. I'm in there 3 or 4 times a year getting my glasses bent back into shape! They have a great selection of frames and the prices are very reasonable. I just went for an annual checkup. With my insurance (which is average at best), I got my appointment and a brand new pair of glasses with 3 stage progressive lenses for $193.
Just to add to Malin's review below, my experience was very similar to hers, as far as bedside manners from the doctors at Uptown Vision. I saw both doctors, Robert and Boyd. My first interaction with Robert was extremely fast and quiet. He said very little to nothing about my results and didn't ask if I had any questions or concerns. I got the sense that he did not want to be there or was annoyed at something. The energy was not great or mood. I then saw Boyd. It was a slightly better appointment with him but did feel rushed as well. He too didn't say much about results unless I asked or pointed out something. Boyd did seem slightly more pleasant to have as a doctor but not drastically better. I believe he was there by himself with no assistant so I'll cut him some slack. Overall, not very happy with my appointments with either. I'm only leaving 3 stars for the receptionists, since they are friendly. I'll be returning to Dr. Hair at Tri-city Eyes since he's excellent when it comes to addressing vision results, concerns, questions. The diagnostic tech they use there is quite newer as well.
My glasses were old and falling apart, so I made an appointment to get an eye exam and a new pair of glasses. The eye exam felt very rushed and not very thorough. While choosing my glasses, I asked very simple questions and was met with long winded answers that didn't pertain to the questions I asked. I finally picked my glasses and ordered them. When they came in, one lens was completely blurry, and the other was fine. Apparently the doctor (who does not have a great bedside manner whatsoever) ordered the wrong strength for one eye. Like, isn't this your job? She explained to me what had happened and just sort of brushed it off. I get that accidents happen but the fact that she was so casual about it lacked accountability. On top of that, I had to text the office to check if my glasses were in. I had been told Wednesday at the latest and didn't hear from them until Wednesday afternoon. I highly doubt they would have reached out if I didn't text first. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because both the receptionists were super nice and helpful. They seem like the only people who know what they're doing.
Staff and doctors are very friendly and helpful. Deducted a star due to the older building they are in. My father is in a wheelchair, and the narrow doors and hallways are very difficult to navigate with any sort of assisted mobility device (scooter, wheelchair). Take this into consideration when booking an appointment. Otherwise, recommended.
