I had my eye exam at Vision Center Associates on May 7,2026 and picked out new glasses which were ordered that day. I waited two weeks to call. They told me the lab said the glasses had been shipped on Friday May 22nd and would be in the following week. The following week I called and the Store now said the glasses are delayed due to the frames being on back order. Then my Insurance VSP called the lab and they told me on Thursday May 28th that they had the frames and would have them ready by Friday to overnight shop them to the store for Saturday. On Saturday, I checked with the Store and the Store told me that Overnight Shipping on Friday means they’ll be there the following Monday! Okay. On Monday June 1,2026 (26 days after I ordered my glasses) my insurance checked with the Lab who told them that Elise at Vision Center Associates had signed for my glasses on Saturday May 30th 2026 at 10:06 am! Barbara at VSP insurance then called the Southport store to see if they have my glasses. Deanna at Southport Vision Center Associates told VSP insurance that all glasses go to their BPT office first and then get checked and sent to the other locations. No one told me that before. I called Elise at the Bpt location to see if I could just pick up my glasses there instead? She told me that they don’t get deliveries on Saturdays and the Southport Store has my glasses! What? While we were in the phone , The Southport store suddenly called to say my glasses were there and ready for pick up! Yikes! Okay. When I went in ,they were very rude and mentioned I had called a couple places. I said ,I can call whoever I want. So- if you enjoy confusion and waiting a long time for your glasses without clear communication or respect … I highly recommend Vision Center Associates in Southport, Ct. For me, next time I’ll go to the EyeCare Associates at 2600 Post Road Fairfield, CT or Modern Focus Optometry on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield. The most important factor is that had they just communicated clearly regarding delays, and when they expected the glasses to be in and told me the process that all glasses go first to their Bpt office to be looked at before being sent to their store. That would have been fine! But instead, they just say “we’ll call when they come in.” The glasses are great and I got them 26 days later and many phone calls later. It’s only fair to warn other unsuspecting customers in advance! They’re tricky-
EXCEPTIONAL. The staff on the frontline here is wonderful, warm and welcoming and extremely professional, as was Dr. Pabon, who could not have been more disarming and courteous. She takes great care in explaining each examination procedure and the results that follow. Vision Center Associates Southport also has a fantastic selection of eyeglasses (sun also) from which to choose for your prescription, as well as Peepers readers, a personal favourite. This was a wonderful experience!
This was my first time visiting the Southport office and I will never go back. The ladies at the front desk are courteous and nice but the lady who actually checks the fit of the glasses is so rude. I’m finding a new optometrist because of her nasty attitude. This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered her because she works at the Bridgeport office as well. She handed me my glasses and I put them on and said they are a little tight. She proceeds to tell me plastic frames are always like that when I know they are not because I always choose a plastic frame. She didn’t even offer to loosen the screws and now I have to go get them adjusted elsewhere. Then she asks how is the vision aspect and I said I don’t know they are dirty. How am I suppose to tell if I have the correct lenses if all I see are spots. She then tells me with an attitude that she was going to clean them after I try them on.I really don’t know what sense that makes. I will not return to vision center and it really sucks because the doctor is awesome. Meanwhile the white lady before me got great customer service.
My family of 5 and I have been using Vision Center Associates for many years as our kids grew up. They know you by name, are wonderful to work with, and have helped take good care of all our eyes over the years. A truly local, friendly and competent business. Highly recommended!
