Visionworks Gurnee Mill General Manger towed the line with customers like me, today. He did so courteously, with an empty apology. Since we live 1 hour away, my family decided to spontaneously stay at the Great Wolf Lodge after my son was tested for Autism by a nearby psychologist. We wanted to brighten things up a bit. We would have had a day of fun and swimming. However I left my contacts at home. I explained to Javier Garcia, multi-unit General Manager, that I wouldn't be able to properly take care of my kids in the pool without a trial pair. I explained that I already have a prescription from Visionworks in Bolingbrook. He said firmly that the trial contacts are for patients undergoing an exam. He said that they are booked all day and I would not be able to get an exam today. So we were turned away. Javier followed company policy though. Thanks, I'll take my business somewhere else, where they help families in need. You are such a good example of how not to be a manager, Javier. Visionworks should reconsider your role.

I was immediately waited on when entering the store. My exam occurred on time. Doctor and staff didn't try to over sell anything to me. Finally, a wonderful lady (staff) helped me pick out a pair of frames that looked good on me and was in my price range.

Very clean place . They see you with in a good manner time upon arriving. The stuff and Doctors are very friendly and attentive. I've been going here for a couple of years , I don't have insurance and it's a pretty good price for glasses and contacts exam . The past two years I've gone they don't seem to have my exact prescription for contacts but they give me what's closes and it's works well while I order my contacts.

Got to my appointment on time waited ten minutes and left after the staff attended family members to talk. The store was empty except for the one customer they were working with. No point in making appts if you aren't going to respect the time. Definitely wasn't going to assisted probably for another 20 mins. Unprofessional and won't ever go back again. Been getting contacts and glasses for 20 plus yrs never waited unnecessarily that long after being on time. It's not a hospital, literally just eye tests. Plenty of other places are way more efficient and care about people's time.

Great experience. The eye doctor was very thorough, knowledgeable, and helpful. She took her time and I didn’t feel rushed. All the staff there were friendly and helpful. Good selection of frames to choose from.
