I went in to let get my three year old. Her first pair of glasses and I met the nicest staff. The lady that helped me was so friendly and very very helpful and knowledgeable. My daughter is disabled and it was a real task to get her to sit still but the wonderful woman who was assisting us was able to get my daughter to sit still and do what she needed her to do. I am overly thankful for that experience.

Chris at the vision works in Albany is amazing and highly professional. She has great customer service. She is kind, patient and is extremely helpful. She explained things to be in detail and helped me choose the perfect frames. She deserves a raise and She should be promoted. I think she’s the reason people feel at home there. The other people seem non chalant and act like you’re bothering them.
Love, love the experience my husband and I had 7/11/26 We were greeted the moment we entered. I had my grandchildren with me and usually don't want to take them in, but yesterday was good we went in and all levels of staff were kind and patient as well as knowledgeable. We were informed of several add on services that we could have if we wanted. The Optometrist Dr Bonanna was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Dr Bananno cares about our eyes and her exam was thorough my best ever!
Amanda was wonderful to my family from check in to check out and treated them like we were more than just customers. Our kids said that she was very personable and she even offered us all of our options while clearly explaining what our plan covers and what we could purchase out of pocket. She made this the easiest experience for us. It almost felt like a regional manager or higher up in the company just happened to be in the store during our visit. She was that good. Seriously, I am glad they texted for a survey the entire experience was that great. Amanda is a gem for Visionworks. We will be back. 100% My husband Ryan is THRILLED and the kids said it was cool! 😎
I have been using Visionworks for about the past 10 years, approximately 6 years at this location. Normally I am in and out in 40 ish minutes. This last appointment it lasted 1 hr 40 minutes before I had to leave for a different appointment. Staffing shortages caused the first appointment to be delayed (I was the second) and the tech had yet to arrive by the time of my appointment. It was 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment until I was seen by the tech for the initial screening. After that, I waited another 25 minutes in the secondary waiting area for the exam room to open up. I was told there were technical difficulties compounding delays. I experienced this first hand when I had my "exam" with the AI assistant. During this process, many parts had to be repeated and many commands had to be repeated by the assistant. After that process failed, another person was streamed in to finish the AI portion of the exam before the doctor could approve the subscription. At this point it was 1 hr 40 minutes since my scheduled appointment started and I needed to leave for another engagement. I had already picked out eye glasses while waiting but was told it would be another 15 minutes to go over the prescription and pick out glasses. Unfortunately, I did not have time for this so paid my copay and left. The staff were nice, but ultimately did not seem to have any consideration for my time. While waiting, a few of them were discussing the staffing and tech issues rather than being proactive to move things along. I am disappointed because I have been going to this company for a decade but will likely look for a new place to take my business for my next vision appointment. Fortunately, I was able to find a place online to get the same glasses I wanted from VisionWorks in 5 minutes without the drive or waiting for staff.
