I have been a Wallace customer sense 1966 . I have purchased 2 pair of glasses every year, for me an my wife. Not counting my GM safety Glasses. Wallace used to be very customer friendly doing right for there customers .Rob who ran the frandor store was a great guy. Sense Rob retired Wallace has went down hill. Today 5/24/2022 I went to the frandor branch to get the rubber nose bridge on my 6 month old frames repaired. The lady that runs the place told me it will cost me $10.40 for that little rubber piece.I told her my frames were only 6 months old. She didn’t t care.I told her she should replace it as a curtisy. I went home an called Jack Wallace the owner who works at the Saginaw st. Store. Told him what happened.he told me that’s business, take it or leave it. I said I will not be doing business with them again.he said you will be sorry.what ever that means. I spend over 400.00 a year there buying glasses.he would rather loose that money than fix my glasses for a 10.00 part.I told him I would leave him a negative review.he said go ahead,no one pays attention to the reviews. Goodbye Wallace optical. To my fellow UAW brothers an sisters, don’t do business with Wallace

UPDATE: Called and made an eye examn appointment for contact lenses. Spoke with a lady on the phone, we even went over price differences for the exam. Went to my appointment, did an exam, and at the end of the exam they bring out a tray of glasses to choose from. I told them I wanted contacts and they said well we did a regular exam and that a contact exam is completely different. Plus they said one of my eyes isn't bad enough for contacts and they wouldnt do them. However, I told them I've been prescribed them in the past since I was just 16 years old, without any issues. He then said I probably wasn't prescribed them. Like come on! How would I forget if I had contacts or not, I still have my original contact case at my house nearly 10 years late. The fact that they miscommunicated and failed to correct it, and then pretty much say I'm lying about having contacts is completely ridiculous. I will go else where and get my prescription contact lenses and glasses. I shouldn't have came back after the first time when they had me pick out my frames with my eyes dilated. Lesson learned. I do not recommend this place.
I've been going to Wallace Opticians for over forty years, they offer a wide variety of glasses for men and women , their glasses are covered by most insurance plans, and they are of good quality, Jack who is the owner is patient and helpful in helping you to select your eye wear and they offer eye exams.
Scheduled my appointment for eye exam the day before, so I was able to get in right away. When I checked in I was not greeted directly, and I was turned off by the enormous flatscreen with Fox news on in the waiting area. I wasn't sure which person was the doctor, because he never introduced himself as such. Once the eye exam started I noticed a heavy Trump presence in the exam room, which was extremely off putting. (Books and pamphlets positioned just left of the refraction wall) That being said, the refraction was spot on as far as I can tell. Needless to say, this isn't the place for me to return to, I do want to support local, but perhaps a local business more in line with my ideals and ethics.
Used to have good luck with this place but within the last years they have made insurance mistakes, over charged amd do not know what they are doing. You have to know the insurance so you arnt scammed by jack. They are the only place that can see you right away because their service is subpar. I have asked to remove my number 3x so far and he does not listen to my request. He continues to call.
