*I had a great experience with the doctor and my exam went well. * Unfortunately, I was NOT notified that my insurance was out of network which I believe breaks BOTH federal and state law. My insurance information was given two days prior when I made the appointment. I received a confirmation call the day before my appointment. In addition, I called about 2:30 pm the day of my appointment to confirm. I asked Louie whether the vision center was supposed to check my insurance before my appointment. I also asked why I wasn't notified about the cost. Louie lied to my face and said that I didn't have an appointment. He asserted that he entered my information when I arrived. When I arrived, Louie was at lunch. I had completed my exam and began my search for frames when he returned. That's when, he asked for my name and insurance details. I told Louie that he was being dishonest and the expectation going forward was honesty. He kept shaking his head that I didn’t have an appointment. I also requested the manager information, but she was on vacation. Additionally, there was no email for her, only the number to the vision center. Despite the annoyance, I was willing to pay for the glasses out of pocket. After Louie told me the cost for two pairs of glasses, he provided me with an IPad to complete the purchase. At first, I began to tap the digital form, then I stopped and questioned the disclosure. Louie said it was about about privacy and HIPAA. The first line detailed that I was agreeing that I had been provided a copy of the Health and Wellness policy. I asked Louie "Where's the policy?" He began searching for the paperwork. For at least eight minutes, he looked for the information. In the meantime, I called the 800 number and made a complaint. It is a federal crime to not provide the documents. I left the Vision center because I lost total faith in dealing with Louie.
I had a great experience at this Vision center location! Louie and Dr Shores were kind, thorough and very knowledgeable. I will be a returning customer for all eye care needs.
Leona, Sandra, Heather, Elise, Louie, and Zack were all so helpful! And Dr.Shores fitted me with the perfect lenses! My new glasses are my favorite pair ever and all at a reasonable price! I will be a customer for life!
Such a great experience! The doctor was very patient and kind, first stress free experience from an eye exam - glasses came in so fast!
