I had a very disappointing experience at the optometrist's office inside the Walmart on Two Notch Road in Columbia, South Carolina, during my son's eye exam on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. I brought my autistic son in for his appointment, and instead of showing patience and understanding, the optometrist appeared irritated throughout the exam. She repeatedly made sarcastic remarks, including saying, "We're going to be here all day," making us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than patients deserving of respectful and compassionate care. As a parent trying to support my son through the exam, I expected professionalism, empathy, and patience—not comments that added unnecessary stress to an already challenging situation. What made the experience even more concerning was that the optometrist did not review her assistant's notes before beginning the exam. It wasn't until the very end of the appointment that she looked at the notes and realized they indicated that my son is autistic. Had she reviewed his chart beforehand, she would have known that he might need a little extra patience and understanding during the exam. As a Black family, the way we were treated left me feeling singled out and disrespected. While I cannot speak to the optometrist's intentions, her tone, remarks, and lack of patience came across as microaggressive and made an already difficult experience even more upsetting. Every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Children with disabilities deserve healthcare providers who are willing to meet them where they are, and families should never be made to feel like they are a burden or an inconvenience. I hope Walmart and the management of this optometrist's office take this feedback seriously and ensure that all patients—regardless of race or disability—receive the respectful, patient-centered, and inclusive care they deserve.

Anna Lee was absolutely amazing. I came to her as she was already closed just to ask for advice about my glasses. She kindly explained that I needed my frames bent so it can fit better on my face. Even though she was closed she kindly told me she would assist me to fix my glasses. That meant the world to me because she didn’t have to do that! Vision Center is definitely the store you want to go to.
Horrible customer service! The receptionist was the most helpful in the office. Alba I appreciate you for going the extra mile for me. The other lady who wore glasses with curly black hair was the nastiest as they come! She wanted to go toe to toe with me in the lobby because of some information they didn't provide me with prior to my appointment...My experience with her definitely has me shopping around. I have never been treated that way in my life. I can bet my last dollar that She is the cause of the 2.8 stars that they have in reviews
I had a horrible experience. I walked in the lady was helping a customer so i walked around looking at the glasses there's no way that she didn't see me, another lady walked in and sat down after i was done looking she asked who's next and both me and the lady stood up be but because the other lady was closer she got there first. So i was ignored that i came into the store second. I asked her if i could just drop off my glasses she said that it's a process and that she would get to me next. I thought this very rude and so I just left. I'll never go back to this store ever again.
I love this place. I wouldn't go anywhere for my glasses or contact. The vision center employees are super professional, the manager is so nice. I hate that Dr. Watts retired, he was the best doctor ever. He will truly be missed. The new doctor is not too bad though. I would recommend this vision center to anyone. They take most insurances, offer great deals, and give 20% discount when you buy two pairs of glasses. Kudos Walmart Vision Center Two Notch!
