Update: Picked up my glasses on the day that I got the text that they were in. I was really dismissed & when it came time for someone to give me my glasses, Linda just handed them to me & that was it. I wasn't asked to sit down & make sure they fit... nothing. And actually it was my birthday that day which I mentioned to Linda but all she did was talk about some personal story while I was putting on my new glasses. She didn't do anything to make sure they fit properly. Must different customer service this time! Smh. I read other's comments here & I don't know who this older manager was but both female employees I was helped by were awesome. I went to the 12 mile & Gratiot optical place today for my first eye exam with them & I loved the service I received & I'll definitely be back after I pick up my new glasses! Like I said today was my first time at Walmart Optical. I've always gone to specialty eye glass places like SVS, etc, & I've always needed new glasses every 2-3 yrs. I don't have optical insurance, & just can't afford to keep spending at least $500 for my frames plus my very strong prescription lenses with bifocals. Getting a better deal is why I chose trying Walmart for my new pair that I'm sorely overdue for. I was seen right on time & everyone from the Dr to the women who worked there were great! I thought the Opthamologist was very throughout & professional. I was impressed with her & I thought she was very nice. I really liked Peggy who assisted me & Linda who helped me too. I was so impressed with the way cheaper cost I paid without sacrificing any extras with my glasses such as Transitions, no-line bifocals, no scratch, etc! I'll get my new pair they said in 7-10 days. I highly recommend this place for glasses! I'll definitely be back for future glasses & after.

Linda at the Optical at Walmart in Roseville provided the most excellent customer service! She helped my husband and I pick out glasses. She was so sweet, patient, informative, knew everything everything from top to bottom about the frames and lenses. This was by far our best experience in purchasing glasses. She thoroughly explained our insurance benefits and made sure we understood all the information provided. Linda went above and beyond in representing Walmart Optical. I would recommend this location for your vision needs. Linda was absolutely amazing. Let us not forget Dr Sarah who also provided the most comprehensive eye exam. Her customer service was also top notch. Dr Sarah was also patient and kind and made me feel comfortable in my eye exam in knowing my eye health was in excellent hands. Thank you both for your excellent care and service Anthony & Carol Rolfe
The manager was nice and incredibly kind. However, the other lady who works there, the Caucasian old lady, is a completely RUDE employee and does her best to run potential customers away. The Walmart administration needs to oversee this lady's behaviors, as I will NEVER use this stores vision services and will forever warn people NOT to get to the 12 Mile and Gratiot Vision center for as long I can breathe!!! Don't go here people!!!
I was referred to a Walmart eye care center by a friend. This is a close Walmart to me and yes, I was skeptical at first. But, I gave them a chance and was so glad I did because I didn’t have eye insurance. They got me in that day, as a walk-in, Mark & Linda are two of the most kind, hardworking people I have ever encountered at a healthcare facility. Linda is so friendly and Mark is the supervisor he is very professional and the Doctor was great too. I am so happy I went with Wal-mart vision center. I get good care and for a good price!
I typical have a VERY difficult and painful time finding glasses that I like and that fit me well. Most tend to look crooked on me and it’s especially disappointing since I don’t have vision coverage so I pay 100% out of pocket. Year after year, I walk away feeling like I got ripped off and the glasses tend to not last more than two years tops. This year, I decided to go Walmart on whim and it was best the experience I’ve ever had. I had been wanting to try contacts again because when I first tried them 25+ years ago, there were not half as many options as today and typically, the cost of both an eyeglass exam and a contact exam isn’t feasible for me. But at Walmart, I paid less for both tests together than I paid for just an eyeglass exam at most other places. Not only was the exam thorough, the doctor took his time with me and even personally supervised me to make sure I still remembered how to insert and remove the samples. He gave me at least 3 wks worth of samples to try and when I returned with feedback about the samples, he gave me another weeks worth of a different contact. When it came time for me to select frames and lenses, this was the first time ever, I left not feeling sick about how much I just spent. I felt confident about my purchase for the first time ever. The gentleman, Mark, who assisted me was fantastic. He was thorough, patient and gave me honest feedback. He didn’t give me the hard sell or try to upsell me. He simply showed and explained the differences between my options and presented the facts letting me figure out what’s best for my needs. He was especially reassuring too, as I am on fixed income and made it clear that even with the less expensive lens, I’d was still getting a very good product. I ended up going w a name brand lens but I appreciated that he just provided just the facts and guided me to the choice that was best for my budget and usage. The other women working there were all very helpful too. I had come in a few days prior to get a leg up on looking at frames and they were just as knowledgeable, helpful and patient. I would go back to this location time and time again and recommend that anyone give them a chance. After I decided on a frame, they also give 20% off a second pair if purchased within 30days of the first pair. From start to finish it was a great experience.
