Advanced Vision Care and Dry Eye Spa

I had a great visit today. All of their equipment is very clean and up to date. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the assistants were friendly and helpful. I appreciated the time and effort the doctor gave to me. She was very thorough and made sure I understood everything she did. I surely look forward to coming back next time.

Dr. Gudenkauf Is amazing. She is very attentive, thoughtful, and patient-centered in her approach. She takes the time to truly understand and address each individual’s unique needs. She listens carefully, values patient input, and even reviews historical information to gain a comprehensive understanding of the patient’s background and needs. I was greeted as soon as I walked in which was really nice. After waiting for only 5 minutes, a technician called me to the back. I was given quite a few tests which I appreciated, and I felt like everyone was very thorough. The doctor then came in and tested me again. She was very professional and I trusted her. When I went to the lobby to pay for my glasses, I was surprised that there was no pressure to buy anything additional. I highly recommend Advanced Vision Care and Dry Eye Spa. Very well run, friendly office.

Due to having cataract surgery and going to a different practice for that and for dry eyes two years ago, and then not having vision coverage since retirement, I strayed away from AVC for about a decade. Yesterday I decided to try them again and made an appointment with Dr. Hurliman. I had forgotten how friendly and patient centered this smaller practice was. From the warm welcome of the receptionists to the very thorough exams with Hennassie and Dr Hurliman, to the Rx and services of Kyle measuring me for frames I selected, I felt at ease and got all my questions answered and their selection of frames to choose from was high quality but there was no pressure to fill my prescription with them that day. Being Deaf, the staff was accommodating to look at me when speaking and understanding that “my eyes are my ears” and understandably very important to me for several reasons. I loved it when they cared enough to ask, “do you have anymore questions?” and not feeling they are rushing through their patients or with me. Thank you.

The best experience that I have had getting an eye exam. Spent 21 years in the Marines and never had a more thorough exam in the Corps as I did here. Great job and thank you for telling me like it is.
