We had surgery scheduled for 8/7/26. Prior to the procedure, I called multiple times asking if we would owe anything. We were told the procedure was covered by my husband’s insurance. They did explain that if any previous payments toward our $300 deductible had not reflected yet, we might be responsible for that amount, which we completely understood. However, when we arrived for surgery, we were unexpectedly told we owed over $900 and that 75% had to be paid upfront. I asked about making payments, but that was not an option. The billing representative said they called us around 5 PM the evening before, but we never received that call. Even if we had, notifying someone the evening before surgery about a $900+ bill is extremely last-minute, especially after we had called ahead trying to get this information. We made the required payment, but the billing process and lack of communication were very disappointing. Patients should be given reasonable notice of large amounts due before a scheduled procedure. I do want to make it clear that our experience with the medical staff was great. The surgeon, anesthesiologist, and RNs were all very professional, explained everything clearly, and made my husband feel comfortable. Our complaint is strictly regarding the billing and communication process.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Baylor Surgicare Fort Worth. My daughter had a procedure there in April, and I was overcharged by approximately $2,200. After receiving my insurance EOB, I contacted the billing department in early May to request a refund. Over the next three months, I called the billing department more than 20 times. Not once was my call answered or returned. In late July, I finally reached Christine Shaw, the Business Office Manager, who confirmed that I had indeed been overcharged for the procedure. I was relieved to finally have someone acknowledge the issue, but unfortunately, I am still waiting for my refund. It is now the end of August, and I still have not received my $2,200 refund. I have been given various explanations, including “blackout periods” and that the delay is “out of their control.” I have been more than patient throughout this process, but this level of disorganization and lack of communication is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. If a facility can take an overpayment immediately but cannot return money that was incorrectly collected for months, there is a serious problem with the billing process. Beyond the financial issue, this experience has left me questioning the overall organization and accountability of the facility. It is concerning to wonder who is overseeing important areas such as OSHA, HIPAA, state regulations, and other compliance matters when something as basic as correcting a confirmed billing error appears to be handled so poorly. I hope Baylor Surgicare Fort Worth takes this seriously and makes significant improvements to its billing and administrative processes. Patients should not have to spend months and make more than 20 phone calls simply to get money returned that they were overcharged. Adding to response: I was still never contacted or followed up as stated by response. This has obviously been an ongoing issue they do not plan on correcting from reading others reviews.

I had a wonderful experience at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare from beginning to end. Having surgery can be stressful, but every member of the team made me feel comfortable, cared for, and at ease throughout the entire process. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted at the door by a nurse who kindly escorted me to the front desk. The administrative staff was warm, welcoming, and efficient, making check-in seamless. Every nurse I encountered before and after my procedure provided exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism. They took the time to answer questions, ensure my comfort, and make me feel like more than just a patient. It is clear that patient care is a top priority here. The entire team works together to create a positive and reassuring experience during what can be a nerve-wracking time. If you are having a procedure done at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare, know that you are in the best possible hands. I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding care I received and highly recommend this facility to anyone needing surgical services.

The worst experience I have ever had when having surgery. Not only did I awake in shear agony, I was released while nauseated. Ended up throwing up as soon as I left and went to the ER that evening as I continued to vomit all day. I was never given anything for nausea or the care I needed. Two days later my husband came down with the Norovirus. He was contaminated at the surgery center. Two days later I had it. We were both very sick, not able to eat or hold anything down. I informed the surgery center and they said that happens. The waiting room was packed with people, it was dirty and a horrible environment. The surgery center has owed me a refund for almost 6 months. I was told they would not refund until insurance paid in full. After further research and speaking with the office manager, they applied the funds incorrectly and will be issuing that refund in July. I will NEVER have any procedure done at this facility again. I understand this is owned by many physicians, and I pray they take note and make the necessary changes to this facility.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my experience with Baylor Surgicare leading up to my procedure. A week before my scheduled surgery, I still had not received a call regarding pre-op instructions or financial information. I had to initiate contact myself and called daily, leaving multiple voicemails that were never returned. Having surgery is already stressful enough, and patients should not have to repeatedly chase down important information regarding their procedure, instructions, and financial responsibilities. The lack of communication made the entire process unnecessarily frustrating and stressful. My experience leading up to surgery was horrible, and I expected much better communication and professionalism from Baylor Surgicare.
