Dr. Rhee is awesome! My new prescription is perfect for me. I'm surprised by the 1 start reviews I see on this site. Most seem to be directed at the staff or people with no sense of humor. I was able to get a reduction on the exam since I have Medicare. I was able to purchase two great sets of frames with lenses for $235 with their 50% off on the 2nd pair of frames. The lady who assisted me choosing frames was very helpful.

Anthony and his team have gone over and above to help me get what I need and fixed an initial hiccup. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is the limited selection available. More colors, more fashionable and fun frames are needed to complete this eyewear store. This is clearly a shortfall of Costco’s corporate management, since it has been the same experience in every one of their stores forever. I wonder what the experience would be like if every store could choose their own selection from most suppliers, and not be confined to the el-cheapo deals Costco strikes with its suppliers.

Had my first exam at Costco with Dr. Walter Rhee, and he was amazing! I’ve worn glasses and contacts for years and this was one of the few times a Dr has been so welcoming. Definitely would recommend to go here! And you can’t beat $130 for glasses prescription + Contact fitting!

Sales counter has terrible customer service. Rude employees who don’t want to be there. I was told to take a number. Took a number, ticket number 00. No other waiting customers and 2 other employees behind the counter not doing much. The busy employee finished up the family they were helping. Then I sat for over 10 minutes while the 3 ladies working the counter just talked to each other and laughed. Never checked in with me again.

I recently visited the Costco optometry department for my first pair of glasses, and the experience was terrible. From the start, the staff was rude and unhelpful. As a first-time buyer, I wasn’t familiar with the process, but instead of guiding me through it, they seemed annoyed by my questions. They quoted me a price of $199 for frames and $160 to put my prescription in them, which seemed outrageous. When I asked for assistance in finding frames that suited my face, the staff did not offer any help or suggestions. The more questions I asked, the more irritated the worker seemed, and after my third question, she simply walked away without a word. Despite making eye contact with other staff members, no one else offered to help me, and they deliberately looked the other way. Overall, the service was unprofessional and disrespectful. I do not recommend the Costco optometry department based on this experience.
