I had a wonderful time doing my eye exam here at this Costco Optical. The person checking my eye was Optos, she was very informative and explaining every process with me. Before I went in her office, another lady took my sight level by looking through their machine that was showing a hot air balloon. I also decided to do the retina photo thing where they'll let you know the health of your eyes. The price is very reasonable which is why I came here. I wasn't planning on getting my frame or lenses here but just wanted to do my eye exam. I saw that this Costco Optical carries some Oakley frame which is the only brand I wear.

I’ve purchased multiple pairs of glasses from Costco Optical in the past and chose them for lens replacement because they offer the most affordable prices and advertise this service. However, when I visited to replace the lenses in my existing frames, the blonde staff member I spoke with refused to accept them for replacement and instead tried to sell me a new pair. I had recently purchased another pair from Costco but returned them due to severe scratches from the manufacturer. All I wanted was to pay for new lenses for my current frames, but she declined and only offered to escalate the issue to a manager. This experience was frustrating and disappointing, making Costco Optical the least impressive part of my Costco visits.
I don't know what has happened to the optomestrist office at Simi Valley Costco but Dr. Foster is no longer there and and now it is Drs. Truong. The young woman has no social skills and my Rx for my progressive lenses was just not correct. I could not get back in for a corrective visit within the 90 days so they wanted another 79 bucks. Which okay, my bad. But decided I would no way want to sit thru another refraction with the ice queen. Going to Target or Walmart. I didn't take my company's eye insurance because Costco doesn't take it and I liked them. But will definitely not be using Costco optometrists. The optic center is still great :)
I've been a patient with Dr. Foster since I was 8 years old. I am now 32, and I'm sad to say that I will be looking for a new optometrist. I just got off the phone with the new receptionist who couldn't help. Yesterday, I called the optical department about ordering a box of contacts. My insurance only allows me to have an eye exam once a year and and I needed one more pair to get me through the month until my next appointment. The lady in the optical department said she put the box on hold with my name on it so I could pick it up after work. Well when I got there, she said that she was calling all day to let me know that the inventory didn't reset so they didn't actually have a box for me. I need contacts because I can't always wear glasses. So she ordered a box of contacts for me, but they take 3 days to come in. I need contacts as soon as possible, so today I called the new optometrist (who took over for Dr. Foster) to see if they could help me with a sample pair to get me through until the box of contacts the optical department ordered came in. The new receptionist was incredibly rude, raised her voice and told me 'if I would have called a week ago, she could have given me a sample of contacts. But because I'm due for an eye exam she cannot give me a sample set.' I will NOT be going to this doctor. I am incredibly sad to hear that Dr. Foster is gone. Sad that they are losing a patient who has been going there for so many years.
Dr Truong was great! Got an appointment on a Saturday within the week. Staff was nice and helpful. Let me now of insurance issues so I could get them resolved before the appointment which I really appreciated. I thought the office staff was nice too. I don’t understand the bad reviews, I would come here again and recommend
