I went to see Dr Brown for an eye examination last week. He was very thorough and answered all my questions. His office staff was friendly and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Brown at his office in Walmart.

I've never been talked down to and patronized like I was in this office. I cried when I left. I'm new to vision treatment and instead of educating me on procedures and protocols, they were cutting their eyes at one another and long pauses/deep breaths before answering my questions. For example, asking what the drops were that they were putting in my eyes. It burned and I've never used eye drops so I was curious. I've always had great rapport with my physicians and some have even become personal friends so this whole experience was bizarre and hurtful. I've never had an experience that compelled me to leave a review like this but I was recently waiting in a salon and overheard another patron telling her hairdresser how rude this staff was to her. I realized mine was not an isolated experience. People need to start speaking up. They're obviously getting away with treating people this way.
Jeers to Dr. Dan Brown and staff who work in the Optometrist office next to the Paris TX Walmart. My 15 year old son has been looking forward to this appointment as he begins his transition from glasses to contacts. Dr. Willis retired and the only Dr there right now is Dr. Brown. No personality from past experience, but I made the appt anyway. We confirmed the appointment 2x and the receptionist asked if Donnie has worn contacts previously - no, this would be his first time. Appointment made for 4:45 this afternoon. Got to his appt at 4:30. Front desk asked for name and pulled his chart from her desk. Front Desk: He's here for basic eye appointment for glasses, right? Me: No, he's here for a contact exam. He wants to transition to contacts. About that time, Dr. Brown steps out from around the corner and tells us it is too late. Me: What do you mean it's too late? Dr Brown: It's too late in the day for a contact exam. I don't want to be here until 6 p.m. after being here since 8 a.m. Me: I confirmed this appointment 2x and whoever took my calls was clear that this was for contacts. Crickets. Neither one of them say a thing, they just look at me. Needless to say, we left and his office will not be seeing us again. I was madder a wet hen. They could have at least apologized for the misunderstanding, offered to get my son rescheduled quickly, or heaven forbid Dr. Brown stay just a bit longer today due to the mistake his office made. One mad mama right now.
I have been a customer at this office for optical care. It has been several years since I have been there. I called today to get an appointment. I was placed on hold and then advised I would not be serviced because I had threatened to sue. This was an absolute lie. I do not recommend this business for any service.
Yeah so if you have medicade/Medicare they will see you but they wont accept the insurance for the actual glasses. They run an average of a few hundred per pair so be prepared for that B.S.
