Earl R Crouch JR MD Facs

Dr. Crouch is a man of few words. I think a lot of people give him negative reviews bc he is like this, but this does not reflect him being a great doctor and surgeon. He has been my daughters doctor for 2 years now and just recently performed surgery on both of my daughters eyes. Office visits are always super quick, in and out, and the surgery went just the same, with zero complications. If you want a highly qualified doctor/surgeon who won’t waste your time, I highly recommend Dr. Crouch.

Dr. Crouch is my saving grace. My baby had to have two eye surgeries before he was 3 months old and the fear was unimaginable. I put all my trust in him bc it felt right and 6 years later we still see him. I saw a post where someone was complaining about his rudeness. He isn’t rude. He is not much of a people person in terms of small talk. But I trust him him fully and to me that’s what matters.

Not sure why my husband and I’s experience was so different from the others but we were not happy with our visit! Dr.Crouch was VERY rude. He didn’t greet us, barely made eye contact. He hardly said more then a few sentences to us as he talked to the two nurses who came in with him explaining things to them instead of us. It was just an unpleasant experience. The staff, on the other hand were very sweet but my newborn will not be going back to see Dr.Eric Crouch again. He walked out of the room and barley said a thing, not “have a good day, we’ll see you next time” nothing. So very rude! We’ve been though enough with having a micro preemie at 24weeks who suffers from lung disease. With all of the appointments we have back to back the last thing we need is a cold rude doctor digging into our baby’s eye. like I said before, he wont be seeing him again. So disappointed Very unprofessional P.S. the second star is for the staff, other then that he earned himself a one star!

Our daughter had to have emergency surgery in Richmond, VA. on her eye and was treated at MCV Medical Center. Even though MCV was capable of treating our daughter, we were recommended by close family to seek a second opinion. We chose to drive 2.5 hours one way to meet with Dr. Eric Crouch and once we had a few minutes to discuss our daughters injury with him, both my husband and I were more than confident in his abilities to provide the most impeccable care for our daughter going forward. Dr. Eric Crouch has performed surgery on our daughter as of this review and provided detailed information related to her vision in a way that two parents who are not medical professionals can comprehend. Dr. Crouch showed that he cares tremendously about his patients (and their parents) by answering numerous questions and helping to alleviate stress/worry for us as we navigate our way through out this journey for our daughter. To some people, driving 2.5 hours to see any doctor is utter insanity— especially when you have access to a hospital such as MCV in your hometown. To us though, the care and approach that Dr. Eric Crouch has provided our family has been worth every mile on our car, every tank of gas purchased and every hour of paid time off/family sick leave from work. We will continue to make the 2.5 hour trip to see Dr. Eric Crouch and highly recommend him to all. Thank you again, Dr. Crouch, for your help and time. We appreciate you more than any google review can ever express!

The Fort Norfolk location parking was slightly annoying, however, Dr. Eric Crouch was awesome with my daughter, her treatment plan and following up with her. I highly recommend him if you're looking for a trustworthy ophthalmologist!
