The doctor was very thorough. Explain everything did a great exam. I am excited to get my new glasses. This is the second or third time I’ve seen her over the years very knowledgeable. Thank you recommend her strongly.

1st appt to follow up on contacts that didn't work for me, this "doctor" has an attitude like I was bothering her. I should have been upset after waiting ONE HOUR. Was very snappy, seemed annoyed and very short with me. Didn't feel valued as a person or customer. 2nd appt (because she was too busy being rude, she did listen to anything I said about my sight and it needed to be corrected)... same attitude and maybe worse. Back her chair into me several times without saying excuse me. Again short, condescending replies. Handed me a card and told me to read, now it's rows of number, letters and other things. I'm confused on which row I'm reading and asked like a mature adult and her reply was a snappy "sir!" read it. So I was pissed at that point and pointed out her behavior and the reason for the question. Her reply as my doctor, "my bad." She knew she was wrong. If I can’t ask a simple question like that, how can she really help me? Anyway she didn't seemed interested in really helping with kind care or normal customer service skills or her actual profession. Idk if I'll ever get what I paid for but seems I paid for racism or just plain hate. MY SEARCH FOR A RESPECTFUL OPTOMETRIST CONTINUES. RIP DR. FREDRICKS, best there ever was. Made you feel like family. This woman should not be serving the paying public for her services. People of color, avoid! Advious discrimination (or racism)… there are several reviews with the same exact experience by people like me. Wasted my money and my insurance benefits because my contacts are not right and the service is too horrible to return. I’m stuck with contacts that aren’t what I paid for. MY REAL RATING IS ZERO STARS.
I wish I could give zero stars. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with an optometrist. She seemed completely uninterested in providing quality care and had an unprofessional, dismissive attitude throughout the appointment. Not only did she fail to explain any of the diagnostic results or what they meant for my eye health, but the eye exam itself also appeared to be inaccurate. I later discovered that the prescription measurements were wrong, forcing me to waste additional time and money correcting the mistake. A proper eye exam requires attention to detail and clear communication with patients. Unfortunately, I experienced neither. I left feeling rushed, ignored, and frustrated rather than cared for. Save yourself the disappointment and expense—take your business elsewhere and find an optometrist who actually listens, explains the findings, and values their patients.
Over the phone they were very clear with me how much out of pocket was and helped me book an appointment. The staff here is very informative and friendly. The office is kept very clean. I paid exactly what they said I would, was seen quick and given a coupon for the frames and glasses.
I’ve been a long-time customer, but this experience was unacceptable. I brought my daughter in for an eye exam and was told she could not be seen because she cannot read, write, or count. When I asked for clarification, I was told there are “places for those people.” That response was not only unprofessional, but deeply disrespectful. Vision exams can be performed using alternative methods for patients with developmental differences. Refusing care in this way—and speaking about patients like that—is disappointing and concerning. Families deserve better. Thank you for your response. To clarify, I did not misunderstand the situation. I was told my daughter could not be seen because she cannot read, write, or count, and the phrase “places for those people” was used during that interaction. I understand that not every office has the same level of training. However, there is a difference between appropriately referring a patient and how that message is communicated. This experience was not just about capability—it was about how my child was spoken about and the way care was declined. I do appreciate the acknowledgment that your office does not have the training to examine patients like my daughter. That is important for families to know when making decisions about where to seek care.
