I asked a few weeks ago if I could buy some prescription sunglasses for my girlfriend. Worker said "yeah sure just bring her with her prescription". I did a week later and was denied service because she wasn't a member. We weren't doing it through insurance, I am a paying member, and we weren't doing any sort of warranty. They completely wasted my time and just blatantly lied to me. Denying your own PAYING members service is just pathetic. Do not use their optical department. Go to vision works or Walmart. We were very satisfied with them and they have a larger selection with better quality and scratch resistant lenses.

Apparently it’s the customers responsibility to select the correct frame. So beware when choosing a frame and make sure it fits. Maybe the Google can tell you how to do this. I noticed when I got my frames they seemed reluctant to help with the selection. Next time I’m sticking with my full-service eye doc. Maybe if you have an uncomplicated RX you would have better luck. Also, my bad for getting glasses over an hour drive away. Here is what happened. First time getting glasses at Costco. I was pleased with the $230 price for progressive lenses and cat-eye frames. I used the prescription from my eye doctor so didn’t need an exam. I cannot wear them for long. They slide down my nose, hurt my ears, have to raise them to see small print, they bother my eyes and are annoying to look through after wearing them all day. I’ve had them adjusted 2 or 3 times for the hurting ear. I’m clueless about what the problem is but suspect the frames don’t fit my face. I will not go back.
$175 for an eye exam! Costco reviews said it varied from $60 to $65, depending on the warehouse. The eye clinics in Costco rent space; they are not affiliated with Costco. The optometrist was very nice optometrist, which is the only reason I gave two stars instead of one. Also, the contacts were about $50 more expensive than I could have ordered online. All in all, beware.
My prescription is perfect and the sweet lady from Trinidad that works there made me feel so warm and welcome and truly blessed. I get really nervous at any doctors appointment and she made me so comfortable and confident in my decision to use their offices. Thank you! You’re a wonderful human and I hope you bosses appreciate you.
Don’t bother with this optical department. The doctor and staff never call you back. I’ve left multiple voicemails (during business hours) and it’s impossible to make an eye exam appointment. I’m not sure what they charge as far as eye exams go because I never could get ahold of someone. My husband and I went elsewhere and had better customer service. I’m not sure how/why these people are still in business. Not a good look on Costco’s optical.
