My first impression of eyeglass world pretty much sucked from the initial appointment. No one advised me that the Saturday doctor was virtual doctor so I had to come back the next day when a doctor would be in do to both my glasses and contacts. Sunday I come in to do my appointment. After a long wait the doctor rushes the exam I guess since it’s time to go. I go sit down to wait for my name to be called so someone can assist with glasses. (I assumed as no one said anything, and that’s the typical process) No one comes so I go look at glasses and find one I want. I start looking around for an associate to help. This guy sees me looking and calls me over. No intro no questions aside for me handing over the glasses I picked. I need the glasses since my current pair were broken.. so I just let him know what I need. I ask him about polycarbonate lenses. I tell him I do want thinner lenses if they have that option. He says they have high index. Cool. I get high index with transitions. I pay the 370 left after insurance and leave. No one ever calls, no text ever gets sent. So we show up to see if they are in. I don’t want to go in because I’m already a little annoyed with how things are done. So my husband goes in. Both my contact sample and my glasses are in. He brings them out to me and the lenses are thick. I go back in and this guy asks if he can help. I let him know I order high index and this is what I got. He says well with those frames we wouldn’t be able to do high index (he asks to for the glasses), then shows me the groove in the lenses where the wire goes. I’m like that doesn’t make sense, then why would the person who place the order not tell me that when I ordered them. The sample pair has thin lenses. He tells me that he can’t speak for that individual. That I can understand. No issue. But I still don’t understand how you can’t the groove on thin lenses. I decide to leave.. because I’m pissed and I don’t want my anger aimed at someone who didn’t cause it. I spent almost 400$ on something specifically because I wanted them to look a certain way in these frames. I would have got a different pair. Someone could have just said something if they were incapable. (I know other places can do this) I decide to come back 2 days later on a Monday hoping the manager and/ the sales associate who placed the order would be there. Not sure if one was, because I walk in and see the same man I spoke to the other day. He asked if he can help. At this point I’m just going to see if I can get the money returned for the high index or the pair fixed. His attitude was basically I don’t want to deal with this because he says so you just want to return the entire glasses. I look at my husband to make sure I said what I meant.. he assures me. I look back at the man whose name I never got, and explain again. He says I’m going to have to get the manager and walks away. I’m annoyed at this point. A little while later another gentleman walks out and calls me over. No name, no title. I explain the situation and he tells me they are high index . Why didn’t the other guy just say that. Now in my head I’m like who is lying to me. I’ve never had high index before but I’ve seen them made with high prescriptions. So I explain, the sales person told me they would be thinner than polycarbonate… they are the same exact thickness as my polycarbonate ones. He says these are 1.67. I asked if they were able to do the higher version. He said no. At this point I’m just defeated. I just ask him to fix the glasses since they were visibly crooked. He does and then he lets me know that I have 30 days to return (which I’m still contemplating because I love these frames) This was possibly the worst experience I have ever had.

Awesome customer service! On vacation and my daughter’s glasses broke. Came by Eyeglass World to see if they could be fixed. Glory was super nice and fixed the glasses with no problem. The staff were friendly and accommodating! Highly recommend!
Husband and I just got new eye exams & two pair of progressives for me and two pair of bifocals for him. The total price was very reasonable for all - without insurance at
I can’t thank Glory enough for helping me today! I lost my glasses at Busch Gardens and was in a panic because I needed a new pair immediately. She went above and beyond to help me find frames I loved, made sure I could get my glasses the same day, and even found me an amazing deal on two pairs for just $100! She was incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely cared about helping me. What started as a really stressful day turned into such a positive experience because of her. If you’re looking for great customer service and someone who truly goes the extra mile, ask for Glory. Thank you again - you seriously saved my day!
I’ve been going to this location since I moved to Tampa. I have always had a great experience each time. The optometrist is extremely knowledgeable and informative of the changes in my current vision and preventative care moving forward. Efrain has gone above and beyond to personally help me understand my prescription and the benefits of each lens coating options and I never feel rushed. Top tier!!
