On 04/04/23 my mother and I visited the Glaucoma Institute of Austin for the first time. I want to start off by saying that we understand that the doctor will sometimes run behind schedule. However, my mother's appointment was for 9:40 a.m. When we arrived the waiting room was full. When we left the waiting room was empty. We were also given lots of paperwork, probably to divert our attention away from the time. Dr. Chai didn't see us until a little after 11 a.m. Not once do I recall her greeting us upon entering the exam room and she definitely did not apologize for her tardiness or give a valid reason. I politely mentioned to her that our wait time was longer than expected and that our appointment was for 9:40 a.m. Her response was that this is common and that there was basically no need to go forward if this was going to be a problem. She then walked out of the exam room. I felt like she didn't want to take my mother on as a patient due to her health issues. This woman should not be in the medical field. Some of your patients will be unhealthy. Why become a doctor if you only want healthy patients? There would not be a need for doctors if everyone was healthy. The physician job is help the patient. My mother has been bounced around from one doctor to another and I firmly believe it due to her health. Please stay away from this facility. I would be highly suspicious of any 5 star reviews.
I rarely if ever write reviews for the products and services I receive but feel compelled to do so in this instance. I recently had cataract surgery on my right eye and the results were astounding. Dr. Chi and the rest of her surgical team were profesional and delivered the results that I had hoped for. Thank you Glaucoma Institute and all the wonderful staff that made my experience such a positive one.
Dr. Chai was extremely rude. The technicians were rude and unwilling to help. The doctor spent less than 5 minutes on my mom and refused to even listen to her additional concerns. Horrible practice. Avoid going here at all cost!
I had an appointment Tuesday january 2,2018. It was a bad experience, for me specially since I am visually impaired. With doctor was rude and acting like a jerk!! He was being really unprofessional. The staff was great and nice with me. This is second time I post this review they removed it.I am giving them a 1 star even they deserve a half a star!!!
