I rarely write reviews—maybe once or twice in my entire life. As a mom, a student, and someone who works, life is busy, so for me to sit down and write a review, the experience has to be truly exceptional.
That’s exactly why I’m writing this review.
I had my first appointment with Dr. Hyke at Kaluzne Vision, and honestly, this was not only the best eye care experience I’ve ever had—it may have been the best healthcare experience I’ve ever had, period.
I’ve spent years taking my child to specialists, helping family members navigate medical appointments, and seeing doctors myself. Over the years, I’ve learned that it can be surprisingly difficult to find healthcare providers who truly listen, take the time to understand your concerns, and make you feel heard. Dr. Hyke did exactly that.
He never made me feel rushed. He took the time to answer my questions, explain what he was seeing, and help me understand my options. He never gave off the attitude of “I’m the doctor, just do what I say.” Instead, he treated me like a partner in my own care and helped me make informed decisions every step of the way.
I came in looking for answers about my anisometropia, and instead of focusing only on a prescription, Dr. Hyke performed a very thorough evaluation and took the time to look deeper into what might be contributing to the problem.
By the end of the appointment, I found myself wishing Dr. Hyke could be my primary care doctor too. He has set the bar so high that every future doctor appointment is going to be compared to this one—and that’s probably the highest compliment I can give.
What impressed me even more was that the rest of the team reflects that same level of care.
Lauren was absolutely amazing. Before I was even an established patient, she took the time to listen to my concerns, get answers to my questions, and help me decide whether this practice was the right fit for me. She didn’t have to do any of that, but she did.
When I came into the office, she was just as kind and patient in person. She explained what different tests and exams were for before having me do them, which I appreciated so much. At many offices, things can feel rushed and you’re simply told where to go and what to do. Lauren took the time to make sure I understood what was happening and why. She made me feel welcomed, comfortable, and genuinely cared for from the very beginning.
Malia was equally wonderful. Anyone who has purchased glasses knows how overwhelming and expensive it can be. She patiently answered my questions, explained my options clearly, provided upfront pricing, and never made me feel pressured to buy anything. Instead, she gave me the information I needed to make the best decision for myself. I truly appreciated her honesty, patience, and professionalism.
Caitlyn at the front desk was also fantastic—friendly, accommodating, professional, and always pleasant to speak with.
What makes Kaluzne Vision special isn’t just Dr. Hyke’s expertise—it’s the culture of kindness and respect throughout the entire office. Every person I interacted with made me feel heard, valued, and cared for.
This was my very first experience with this practice, and it left such a strong impression on me that I took the time to write the first Google review of my life.
If you’re looking for an eye doctor who is knowledgeable, kind, thorough, patient, and genuinely invested in helping people, I cannot recommend Dr. Hyke and the entire team at Kaluzne Vision highly enough.
