Dr. Michael Silvetti is the best! He is so knowledgeable and kind. I've already scheduled appointments for my family with him. It's rare that you come across a medical professional/doctor who's personality shines as much as his knowledge. Dr. Silvetti is the real deal. I took my 9 year old son for his annual eye exam. His previous doctor is no longer with the practice, so I asked the appointment scheduler to pair me with who she thought was best with kids. So glad she made the right recommendation. He immediately connected with my son and made me laugh. My 11 year old daughter liked him too. We are an African American family and felt so welcomed. I've been a long-time patient and this is my son's second time. All the doctors are good but Dr. Silvetti is special. He is a star! Thanks Dr. Silvetti and Memorial Eye Institute for being the best at what you do!

The staff were pleasant, helpful and thorough. The doctor was very polite, very professional and explained my procedures and visit concerning my eyes and also explained new alternatives available to possibly eliminate eye drops. I highly recommend Memorial Eye Institute to anyone.
As an autistic and dyslexic patient, communication accessibility matters greatly to me. For several years, my wife assisted me with scheduling appointments at Memorial Eye Associates without issue due to my disability-related communication limitations. Recently, she was suddenly refused the ability to schedule an appointment for me because she was “not on HIPAA.” She was not requesting medical information — only trying to schedule an appointment. I then contacted the office directly and explained my autism, dyslexia, and auditory processing difficulties, including that phone communication can be difficult for me. During the call, I experienced interruptions, was placed on hold with music continuing while staff attempted to speak, and struggled to process what was being said. Despite clearly communicating my disability-related barriers, the situation was not effectively accommodated. I also found the management interactions unprofessional, dismissive, and at times unnecessarily confrontational. I left the conversations feeling that concerns were minimized rather than genuinely understood or addressed. Some explanations given to me about “HIPAA policy” later appeared inconsistent with what administration acknowledged afterward, which only added to the frustration and confusion. I later spoke with administration (Allen Boxbaum) which showed where it all starts, who acknowledged uncertainty regarding the policy and stated they would review the matter internally. While I appreciate the follow-up apology and response from administration, the experience itself left me feeling unsupported as a disabled patient seeking basic access to care. I hope this leads to better ADA awareness, communication accommodations, and staff training moving forward so other patients with disabilities do not experience similar barriers.
I arrived early for my appointment which was scheduled for 10:50. I did not see the doctor until 12:20. I sat in waiting rooms with not explanations from anyone. It was not until I was finally taken back that anyone explained there had been an emergency surgery earlier that affected the doctor's schedule. I felt very frustrated as it felt as if you had no respect for me or my time. I know if I had been that late, I would have been told to reschedule and charged the fee for missing the appointment.
Very disappointed with the optical center and customer service at this practice and would not recommend. I've had several appointments canceled and rescheduled by them over the last 9 months. Once again they called to reschedule my appointment. I can't rate the optometrists here because It's impossible for them to keep a scheduled appointment due to doctors leaving the practice or new doctors not accepting insurance. This is a big red flag. Since I'm now in dire need of new glasses and experiencing headaches, I did not reschedule. They did not offer any good resolution other than rescheduling out another few months or get on a waiting list for a cancellation. I don't have a job where I can just drop everything to make a suddenly available appointment. instead, i contacted another highly rated eye doctor recommended by a friend and I was able to get an eye exam appointment for glasses within a week to address my issue.
