Dr. Michael Silvetti is the best! He is so knowledgeable and kind. I've already scheduled appointments for my family with him. It's rare that you come across a medical professional/doctor who's personality shines as much as his knowledge. Dr. Silvetti is the real deal. I took my 9 year old son for his annual eye exam. His previous doctor is no longer with the practice, so I asked the appointment scheduler to pair me with who she thought was best with kids. So glad she made the right recommendation. He immediately connected with my son and made me laugh. My 11 year old daughter liked him too. We are an African American family and felt so welcomed. I've been a long-time patient and this is my son's second time. All the doctors are good but Dr. Silvetti is special. He is a star! Thanks Dr. Silvetti and Memorial Eye Institute for being the best at what you do!

As an autistic and dyslexic patient, communication accessibility matters greatly to me. For several years, my wife assisted me with scheduling appointments at Memorial Eye Associates without issue due to my disability-related communication limitations. Recently, she was suddenly refused the ability to schedule an appointment for me because she was “not on HIPAA.” She was not requesting medical information — only trying to schedule an appointment. I then contacted the office directly and explained my autism, dyslexia, and auditory processing difficulties, including that phone communication can be difficult for me. During the call, I experienced interruptions, was placed on hold with music continuing while staff attempted to speak, and struggled to process what was being said. Despite clearly communicating my disability-related barriers, the situation was not effectively accommodated. I also found the management interactions unprofessional, dismissive, and at times unnecessarily confrontational. I left the conversations feeling that concerns were minimized rather than genuinely understood or addressed. Some explanations given to me about “HIPAA policy” later appeared inconsistent with what administration acknowledged afterward, which only added to the frustration and confusion. I later spoke with administration (Allen Boxbaum) which showed where it all starts, who acknowledged uncertainty regarding the policy and stated they would review the matter internally. While I appreciate the follow-up apology and response from administration, the experience itself left me feeling unsupported as a disabled patient seeking basic access to care. I hope this leads to better ADA awareness, communication accommodations, and staff training moving forward so other patients with disabilities do not experience similar barriers.

I love my Dr- Silvetti. He is always personable and explains everything he is going to be doing. The staff there are always kind and I would recommend this place to anyone in my family or friends. I did have a BAD reaction to the eye drops that reverse the dilation yesterday and my eyes were as red as tomatoes for many hours. It didn't make the dilation go down either. I was pretty worried, but it FINALLY went away after I took a long nap! WHEW! I am apparently allergic to something in that drop! So, I just won't get it next time! 😉

As a business owner myself, I truly appreciate great customer service and attention to detail, and Memorial Eye Institute exceeded my expectations. From the pre-op process to post-op care, the staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and thorough in guiding me every step of the way. Everyone—from the front desk to the nurses and doctors—made sure I felt comfortable and well-informed about the procedure and recovery process. The level of care and professionalism was outstanding. I highly recommend Memorial Eye Institute to anyone looking for exceptional eye care.

I had an extremely unprofessional and frustrating experience at Memorial Eye Institute on Linglestown Road. I was brought back for my eye exam only to be told afterward that the doctor was running 1.5 to 2 hours behind. If that’s the case, patients should not be taken back and made to wait without warning—especially when people have work and other obligations. I told them I had to be at work by 4:30. When I asked why patients were still being brought back despite such a long delay, I requested a supervisor and was directed to Anna Mary. She claimed the delay was due to “one upset patient,” which made no sense since everyone there was waiting well past their appointment time. It felt dishonest and dismissive. Things escalated unnecessarily when I asked for her supervisor’s phone number. Instead of providing it, she had the assistant office manager, Heather, call 911—simply because I asked for a number. I was not threatening, loud, or out of control. That response was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. This office lacks transparency, respect for patients’ time, and basic customer service skills. Calling the police on a patient for asking to speak to a higher-up is unacceptable. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere for eye care.
