Alayna is the sales representative that took care of me on my visit. She is very knowledgeable, professional, patient and kind. She answered all my questions and even assisted me with choosing a frame and a transitional lens color for my new glasses. I am very pleased with my visit to NY Optical. I had to share my experience at NY Optical with Dr. O'Connell because it completely changed my perspective on eye exams. I'm new to the capital region and I am used to fast in and out in NYC so when I scheduled my appointment, I honestly thought the process was going to be simple: walk in, get a quick exam, receive my prescription, pick out some glasses, and be on my way. Instead, I received one of the most thorough and personalized healthcare experiences I've ever had. Dr. O'Connell took the time to explain my eyes, my vision, and my prescription in a way that no one ever has before. For the first time, I actually understand what my prescription means and how it affects my vision. What stood out even more was how she treated me as a person, not just a patient. I was feeling very anxious going into the appointment, but her sense of humor is absolutely off the charts. She had me laughing from start to finish and made the entire experience comfortable and enjoyable. Her attention to detail, genuine care, and ability to connect with patients are exceptional. I walked out feeling heard, seen, educated, and confident that my vision was being protected. I also have to give credit to the staff. Every person I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and professional. It was obvious that this is a healthy workplace where the entire team shares the same goal: making patients feel comfortable and leaving a lasting positive impression. The positive energy throughout the office was noticeable from the moment I walked in. New York optical is a small locally owned business that goes above and beyond for new and returning patients. They were recommended to me by a long time patient who’s even brought her three children along with through the years she’s been with them. The owner is very kind and even offered a temporary pair if I chose to order the pair I wanted which would have taken longer than their typical week or so wait time for new prescription lenses. The doctor also personally called me to let me know of the back of eye imaging results and walked me through everything that was discovered. They’re fantastic all around!

Alaina did a great job. She was very helpful and there for my needs. Moeez who answers the phone is very helpful. Alaina help me pick my glasses and they were the best glasses I ever got. These guys are amazing. Alaina is more than worth her weight in gold she needs a raise.

Amazing service, very friendly staff, the doctor was a delight. Sam at the counter laid out my insurance details very clearly and made sure I understood what I was getting into before I did anything. All in all, definitely the best service I've had with an opticians and I'm going back there next time I need something.
