Well with all the good reviews I expected better. I'm experiencing a black spot of missing vision in the lower right quadrant of my right eye. I used to work for an ophthalmologist so I know very well what this could mean and how urgent it could be. Possible retinal tear, retinal hole, risk of detachment, permanent vision loss.
A good clinic would triage a patient and if it's a potential emergency find a way to get a way to get them in, even if they had to double book, because when you're dealing with potential vision loss you don't screw around. And on the weekend your only other option would be the ER where they don't staff an ophthalmologist.
Instead I got the runaround with someone who sounded like they were about 12 years old, half asleep, bored and/or just plain clueless - telling me they can get me in in 3 or 4 weeks. The complete lack of engagement, concern or adult professionalism is not consistent with the reviews on Google. I mean it honestly just sounded like she just didn't care. And this is definitely not the kind of impression I would want one of my employees a patient calling on the phone.
I wonder if I end up having a rental detachment that could have been prevented through proper triage, and suffer consequent vision loss if I can sue this clinic for not following proper triage procedure for an optical emergency. Worth exploring in the event that happens. Generally I'm not the suing type but it really bugs me on someone just passes the buck because it doesn't affect them personally and they just don't care if someone else is injured. I'd say that's definitely the wrong type of person to be in any kind of medical field in any capacity.
