I recently had a fantastic experience at Retinal Consultants after a rough start elsewhere. I’d had laser surgery for a retinal tear at another practice with almost no explanation of the procedure or follow-up care, so I came in for a second opinion feeling anxious and under-informed. Dr. Huz completely changed that. He took real time to explain what a retinal tear actually is, walked me through the original procedure I’d had, and when he recommended treating a tear developing in my other eye, he talked me through my hesitation instead of rushing me into it. He then connected me with Dr. Ibrahim for the laser repair, and she was outstanding — patient, thorough, and genuinely invested in making sure I understood every step before, during, and after the procedure. She also walked me through my options for the injection, and I decided to skip the lidocaine this time. The difference in outcome was night and day. My first procedure left me with swelling, redness, eye fatigue, and stiffness that took a while to resolve. This time, I’m already home with none of those complications — just a much smoother, far less stressful experience overall. I also want to give a shout-out to the tech who took the time to ask how to pronounce my name and made sure it was documented in my chart for the rest of the staff — such a small thing that made me feel genuinely seen. And to the team who did my eye photos and scans, thank you for being so thorough and putting me at ease throughout. The whole staff was warm and easy to work with too. I strongly recommend this practice for anyone needing retinal care — they made me feel heard, informed, and cared

Referred here by a specialist, and it was a complete disappointment. This office is extremely unprofessional. Staff was rude from the start—my name wasn’t even entered correctly, and when I pointed it out, I was met with “whatever” and no correction. No one explains anything. Tests and procedures are done with zero communication or warning, including being hit with extremely bright lights without explanation. Even worse, staff openly used foul language and discussed personal legal issues. Completely unacceptable. After waiting over an hour at my last visit, I was told the doctor wasn’t even in the office. Save yourself the frustration—go somewhere else.

Dr Huz took his time to explain the surgery and I did not feel rushed. I am confidant going into surgery next month that he and his team will do a great job. Thanks for the confidants Doctor Huz!

I had prior eye trauma and had an artificial lens that worked for 15 years, no issues. The lens was dislodged recently and caused blurry vision. No other medical issue. I was recommended to have the lens replaced. I had surgery. Then my retina was detached. I had a procedure to fix it. I came in to tell them it was not fixed. They said it may be a pressure issue and sent me elsewhere. Other doctor said it is a retinal detachment and sent me back. Had another surgery. Retina is attached, but vision is gone in that eye. Also, I will need 4 eye drops for the rest of my life to control the pressure in that eye. Please be extremely careful who you see and what surgery you get.

Dr Falk and the staff are great, knowledgeable and professional. They explain everything they are doing and the results in terms you can understand.
