I’ve been having trouble with my eyes, so I go to the doctor when I find out that my prescription changed. Dr. Pham was great so are the workers at the doctors office. I had I test picked out a pair of glasses and I waited and all of a sudden my glasses came and I went and picked him up and I really love them so much. I can see perfect now and it looked really nice. They also have Transition lenses so they get dark when I go outside and light when I’m inside and it’s great.

Dr. Pham is a very good eye doctor and deserves a better staff. I saw Dr. Pham a few weeks ago to get my prescription, but did not pick out eyeglasses because they were out of some styles and they said more would show up in a month. Now, a month later, I get off work early enough to stop by to look for some frames to fit my new prescription. The hours online show open until 5pm, but the door shows 4:30pm and regardless I walk in at 4:03pm. and I'm greeted by 3 staff members sitting at the reception desk (chatting). I explain that I'm here to pick out some frames and I have my prescription in hand. One of the receptionists says "We don't take anyone in after 4pm and we are just waiting for the doctor to finish the last patient of the day". All 3 just look at me. I explained that I usually don't get back into Hollister until 4:30, but today I was able to get in early so I came right down. No sympathy even if it's only 4:03 and 3 staff members are just sitting and chatting waiting for the doctor to finish. Sorry Dr. Pham, but if your staff doesn't want to take my money, then I'll go somewhere else that does. I can't believe all 3 of them could sit there and think this was the best decision they (collectively) could make.

**This edit is due to the fact that I have know spoken to the Doctor who is a completely understanding practitioner and helped resolve the situation. If not for his staff I would have recommended this office to others** The fact that the receptionist at this office is completely rude is the reason for the 1 star rating. Maria has no empathy for the patients when a mistake occurred by the lab that they send glasses to get fitted for lenses. I my mom took frames that she had previously used to save money since her lenses were about $450, and the lab lost the glasses...and according to them it was a whole box that was lost. In speaking to Maria she told us to pick and new frames that would now have to be purchased at full price and did it really matter that they were lost since the frames were already used. So I asked to get a refund on the amount I paid for the lenses and she told me I would have to wait for the doctor (who she had previously told my mom was not in, but I called back in less than 5 min she told me she had just gone in with a patient). So I asked approximately what time the doctor would be back Maria's response was give me your number to which I responded I am at work so would like to know an approximate time so I could be available and one again her response was "your number" and we did this a few times until ultimately she hung up and I had to call back to inform her of the disconnect because I could not believe that she would have intentionally hung up on a paying customer, which it turns out she did do. The lack of empathy and caring Maria showed during this situation is completely baffling as she works in an industry where dealing with people and having at least some level of customer service etiquette is necessary.

My experience with this doctor is great, but reception staff could be improved. I left three voicemails with the office to schedule an appointment and did not receive any calls back regarding availability over the course of three weeks. I have gone to this doctor for years because they are local, nice, and the Doctor themselves are great but now I amcurrently looking for a new location with better response to patients overall.

Great place for general eye checkups and prescriptions. And always get me in when I have a red eye emergency (such as when my dog scratched my eye!).
