The one I went to is in a suburban area. You would think being in a city they would have more than one person attending to people who need glasses. I waited close to 45 minutes to be waited on. My regular place is a smaller local place. They have at least 3 people at all times. If it wasn't for my new insurance I would have went to them. If you go to Visionworks for glasses make sure to make a day out of it.

Is this even considered an Eye Doctor? I didn't really need an appointment but wanted to get established. So I booked an In-Person appointment rather than virtual, the Eye tests were in person and the associate was great, then she walks me into a room and gets a "remote technician" on the screen to operate the headset I guess. It didn't go very smoothly, but whatever. Then the doctor who was supposed to be in-person was also remote! Whatever, glad I didn't have an eye injury or something. Here's where it goes bad, the doctor said my contact lens are going obsolete, but I can still buy them. She offered me a sample of the new ones, I said sure. At some point, a young man stopped in and swapped out with the woman that was originally helping me. I'm brought out and sat down to wait for the samples, 30 minutes go by and I walk up there, and he had just not done anything at all and seemed like I was obnoxious for even approaching the desk. Turns out, they didnt even have samples, they would have to order them. Another woman took over because clearly he couldn't perform basic tasks, so she handed me a glasses prescription, I said thanks, can I have the contact lens prescription too? They said "no you need a follow up appointment for the trials". I explained I dont care about the trials at this point, I want my prescription so I can order contacts, and they said we'll you cant have it because you haven't tried the samples. I said fine, just give me the prescription for the other contacts which I can still buy. (my prescription didnt change, and I dont think prescriptions are tied to contact brand). They refused, and said they would have to contact the doctor, and maybe or maybe not would she give me my old prescription without a follow up. I said fine, how long will that take, and she said maybe 2 days. What? You are joking right? So I come in there with an ACTIVE prescription (expiring maybe a month from now) just for a check up for the purpose of renewing the prescription, pay them $75, and I walk out with no prescription, losing the ability to buy contacts. So, again, I paid $75 to lose my prescription 1 month later - No prescription, never was contacted about the samples, clearly they never thought about me again the second I walked out the door. 1800-Contacts, however, did sell me contacts after they answered the phone immediatley and I explained the situation. I did try calling Visionworks and got routed to corporate after 15 minutes, the woman was very nice there, but when she called the store they didnt even answer for her, so I told her this story, we shared a laugh, then I told her no one should ever go to Visionworks in Vestal and I could tell she wanted to agree (but of course the line is recorded and she couldnt). Visionworks in Vestal - "Pay $75 to lose your contact lens prescription and get nothing else in return" Byyyyyyeeeee
The store in Vestal, New York was awesome. Everyone was professional, courtesy, and even joked around. Made the visit comfortable. Answered all questions. Dr. Lee (?) was awesome. Took all the time I needed to answer all my questions and was very thorough with his examination. Never made me feel hurried. Would highly recommend this particular place!
Tammy I think her name was helped me with everything I wanted and more for less then what I would have paid for one pair. Im not sure who checked me in but he was also very nice and a lot of help as well, he found me a way to get one pair of glasses for free and they were both very pleasant.
Great experience. The employee was knowledgeable. She gave me her honest opinion on a couple of questions that I asked. Every employee that I came in contact with was very kind.
