This is a review for an eye exam, not the eye glass dispensary which has courteous, competent and helpful staff. I took my blue shield insurance card in three weeks ago to book an exam for new glasses. I told the receptionist I had VSP insurance through my Blue Shield plan. She took my card, looked me up online and insisted that I did not have coverage but that I could pay 89 dollars for an exam. She said a lot of people think that they are covered at this location but are not. I declined to pay for a free annual exam. I contacted B.S. to make sure that I did in fact have VSP coverage. Amanda at B.S. assured me that I was fully covered and suggested that the young lady in the office must have looked up the number incorrectly. I called today and informed them of the situation. Again the receptionist claimed I didn''t have coverage. I told her that blue shield suggested she entered the info incorrectly and she launched into an explanation of how many years she has been doing her job, asking who am I to tell her she is doing it wrong etc. Bottom line: She finally entered the numbers correctly (She was entering letters that shouldn't be entered). After discovering that I was and am covered there was no apology, no thanks for educating her so that she won't make the same mistake with other patients, just the same haughty and defensive attitude. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Many thanks to Jim at the Rohnert Park Costco optical department. I was seeing blurry in my new prescription glasses but the doctor confirmed that my prescription was correct. I was frustrated because there didn't seem to be a resolution. Jim insisted on checking to be sure my eyeglasses were adjusted correctly. After a few tweaks and adjustments I could see much clearer and it made a world of difference. Thanks again Jim!

I will say that I am pleased with my entire family's glasses and WHEN we were actually able to see someone, they we're courteous and thanks us for waiting. I will say that if you try to call and speak to anyone.....good luck!!!!! I have been calling since 10 am and have yet to actually reach anyone in the optical department!!!! That is the reason for our two star rating. Either leave the phone off the hook or pick up and say sorry we're too busy to take phone calls.

Been coming to Rohnert Park Costco Optical for over 8 years now. I also get my eye exams done with the Optometrist office which is conveniently located in Costco. I have always experienced friendly and courteous staff on every visit. Waiting time depends on what day and or time you should visit the Optical dept. I usually schedule my appts around 12 noon, I've never had to wait longer than 15 minutes.

A year ago I had an eye exam and optical consultation. I was told my cost (w/o insurance - for just the frames & lenses, exam was additional ~$100) was $700!!!! Needless to say I did not purchase the glasses. Today I had an eye exam and purchased 2 pairs of glasses (1 clear, 1 sun) for just slightly over $400! This includes transitions lenses, anti-glare, computer, etc! All the bells & whistles for about half the cost AND the customer service was AMAZING! I will be a repeat customer. Thanks (RP) Costco!
