If you’re living in or passing through the North Sacramento area, the Natomas Costco is widely considered one of the best-managed locations in the region. While any Costco trip requires a bit of strategy, this spot consistently hits the mark. Here is a breakdown of why this location earns a 5-star "Executive Member" vibe: Why the Natomas Location Stands Out • Efficient Layout & Cleanliness: Unlike some older warehouses, the Natomas aisles feel spacious and well-organized. Even during the weekend rush, the staff does an incredible job of keeping the floor tidy and the "treasure hunt" items easy to find. • The Food Court Hustle: The food court crew here is legendary for their speed. Whether you’re grabbing the $1.50 hot dog combo or a whole pepperoni pizza, the kiosk-to-counter pipeline is impressively fast. • Consistent Stocking: They do a great job of keeping local favorites and seasonal items in stock. If it’s in the mailer, they almost certainly have it on the floor. Pro-Tips for Your Visit • Best Time to Shop: Aim for Tuesday or Wednesday evenings about an hour before closing. You’ll have the aisles to yourself.

Disappointing Food Court Service & Severe Disorganization I am posting this review to bring light to a serious, recurring issue with customer service and operational efficiency at the Natomas Costco food court, specifically in the pizza pickup area. My family and I have been loyal Costco members for many years. Before the Natomas location opened, we frequently shopped at the Woodland, Exposition Blvd, Elk Grove, and Roseville warehouses. Historically, our experience with Costco’s food court staff across those locations has been exceptional, reflecting the high standard of service Costco is known for. Unfortunately, the ongoing experience at Natomas has been consistently disappointing. During multiple recent visits, we have encountered severe disorganization and unprofessional behavior from the staff assigned to the pizza section: No Queue System: There appears to be no reliable system for fulfilling pizza orders. Employees regularly skip order numbers, calling out higher numbers while members who placed their orders much earlier—often waiting upwards of 45 minutes—are completely overlooked. Unprofessional Service: When approaching the pickup window, they do not greet, acknowledge, or look at customers until directly prompted. Dismissive Communication: When asked for a quick update on a delayed order, staff routinely respond dismissively, stating "numbers will be called when ready" all while other numbers continue to be called out of sequence. While I fully understand that the food court is a high-volume, fast-paced environment and that staff work under significant pressure, maintaining basic courtesy, respect, and proper order management is essential. The current behavior and attitude exhibited by several team members at this location fall far below the standard members expect. We love shopping at Costco, but the consistent frustration at this food court needs immediate management intervention. I strongly urge management to review the pizza fulfillment process and ensure frontline food court employees are trained to be kind, polite, and professional with customers. I hope to see improvements here soon.

This is a great Costco. I’m so happy I don’t have to go to Arden anymore. Much more convenient.

This Costco is great because it's not overly crowded. I'm from the Bay Area, so I'm used to a lot of traffic at most Costco locations, no matter when I go. The only thing I wish they had is a gas station.

I love Costco and was really excited when this Costco opened up. I don't know what happened starting this year (2026), but their customer service has really gone down hill. It started in the self checkout lanes, while waiting to check out for about 10 minutes an employee came up to me and said it was 10 items or less only. This has never been the case. And I asked where the signage was that said this, he smirked (very sarcastically) "its word of mouth" and walked away. He directed me to go get in the back of the manned registers. All those lines were packed and self checkout was empty with like 6 employees standing around. The self checkout employee also told me it was only one member per shopping cart (my roommate and I shop together, each having our own Executive Membership) and once again no signage verifying this change of store policy. I decided to shop at different Costcos to see if this was a company policy. Surprise, it was not. I talked to store workers at the South Sacramento, Elk Grove, Expo, Roseville, Woodland, and Lodi stores, and none have the 10 items or less in self checkout or only one member per cart rules. And, those associates were friendly, kind and helpful, unlike the associates at the Natomas store with their snide and rude remarks. I will not be shopping at the Natomas Costco anymore. My roommate and I usually shop once a week, and are more than happy to drive 5 to 10 miles out of our way to avoid the rude associates and random made up rules that the Natomas store does. Customer service classes teach us, someone who has a good experience will usually tell 3 to 5 people. Someone who has a bad experience will tell 10+. I am attaching photos of the packed store and empty self checkout lanes that I discussed in the beginning of my review. I tried to find a contact email on the Costco customer service website, but they don't have one. So this will have to do.
