My family and I had been patients of this office for years. While I previously loved this place because it looks nice, has a good frame selection, and the Doctors Lew and Charney are great, the staff are horrible. If there's an issue, it becomes apparent very quickly that this office is just focused on profit and not customer satisfaction. The staff, including office managers make up policies assuming every patient is unaware of typical frame and lens options and optical best practices and policies. My family spent a good deal of money here annually and got every add-on but we've since found an office that values their patients.

I had some issues with the trial lenses I was wearing from my contact lens fitting and decided to come back an hour after my initial appointment. Dr. Charney and the staff were super accommodating and helpful with sorting everything out. They were quick to address my concerns, took the time to reassess things, and helped me find a different contact lens option that worked better for me. I really appreciated how kind and attentive everyone was, especially on such short notice. Great experience overall.
The optometric evaluation followed a logical and systematic diagnostic sequence. Visual acuity, refraction, and ocular health assessments were conducted with precision. The explanations provided aligned well with current understanding of visual ergonomics. Overall, the visit demonstrated consistency with evidence-based optometric practice.
First off - the doctors here, Dr. Nakamura & Dr Lui are perfect. Dr Nakamura treats me like family and Dr Lui is very professional and personable. And the individuals that helped me with my eyewear - Amy & Yoyo - are VERY knowledgeable and they are not trying to “upsell” you. They are patient, and they take care of you. They really do help your money go a long way. They give you information so that you can make an informed decision. I have been coming to Natomas Optometry for a long time, despite being a long way to travel for an eye appointment, but I love how I am treated here and I will always come back.
We have been coming to this site ever since we moved to Natomas. During Covid hours or operations changed and there were no weekend available appointments. We were always welcomed and accommodated. My husband and I work till 4:30 and it takes us 30mins to get to the office. Today 9/22/25 we were told by the receptionist that we have to be at the office no later than 4:00pm to get our glasses picked and ordered. There was no notice for the new changes in timing. We were also notified by the receptionist that they are also open on Saturdays. Which was also not shared with us nor any notifications were sent out by the office of change in office hours or Saturday openings. According to the receptionist Saturdays has been opened for a year now and we had our glasses done last year but there was no accommodation for Saturdays. This was very disappointing and very rude and abrupt way for the receptionist to let us tell about the changes. There was no professionalism found in the receptionist verbiage. My husband and I decided not to come to this office anymore. Until the gentleman decided to help and accommodate us. He politely acknowledged us and helped us. He did also say about time change and Saturday openings but no appointments for glasses. The reason they giving us is because of short staffing. When we walked in, there were 5-6 receptionist who all welcomed us but out of them 1 told us about timing and short staffed issues. However, the gentleman decided to help us and took all our information, pulled our chart/ paperwork and asked us to take a seat and one of their co-workers are going to help us. Which a lady came and helped us finally without hesitation. We left little satisfied but still disappointed with the behavior of the receptionist. I want to acknowledge Yo-yo and Annabella to assist us with our glasses. But I will still appreciate the receptionist to know their job and learn how to acknowledge ppl in a polite and calm way.
