Hiemstra Optical

The doctor here is very thorough and takes time to explain what is going on with your eyes. I highly recommend this place also because the staff do not do pressure sales. Yet the quality of the frames are really good for the price. I did compare to other glasses retailers and Hiemstra Optical has very competitive pricing and good quality choices.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment I walked into Hiemstra Optical, I felt welcomed and well cared for. Tina at the front desk greeted me with a warm smile and genuine kindness that immediately put me at ease. I was then assisted by Jennifer Schmidt, who clearly knows her profession inside and out. She was knowledgeable, patient, and made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. My eye exam with Dr. Lana was exceptional. She is, without question, the best eye doctor I've ever seen. That's high praise coming from me, considering my father-in-law is a retired optometrist! Dr. Lana was thorough, professional, and took the time to answer all of my questions. After my exam, I was guided through the eyewear showroom, where I tried on several different frames before finding the perfect pair. The selection was excellent, and I never felt rushed during the process. The entire team made what can sometimes feel like a routine appointment into a truly outstanding experience. I highly recommend Hiemstra Optical to anyone looking for exceptional eye care and customer service in Kalamazoo. 👓✨

DT Hiemstra optical is my go to! Dr is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, answered all my questions thoroughly, tested my eye health and provided education about procedures. Betsy loves "to play" by finding glasses frames that i had preferences for, about 20 frames to try on. Jennifer ended up finishing as Betsy was with another patient. Tanya?? at the desk friendly and professional. All the staff liked the funky frames I picked out and everyone is so friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Love you all at Kazoo Hiemstra. Thnx

I went to the Plainwell location but the customer service was terrible. Decided to try the Gull Rd location and the customer service was good but decided to compare the price of the frames I chose against available online pricing first. The exact same frames were less than 1/3 the price via online retailers. I ordered my glasses online (with bifocals and two different astigmatism corrections) for a total price significantly less than just the frames alone at Hiemstra. SHOP AROUND before buying here unless you don’t mind throwing away money.

I have gone to Hiemstra Optical on Gull Road for several years because they provide quality care and service in every way. If I need to choose new frames, their knowledge of what will be best for me is valuable to me. I’ve always been happy with Hiemstra!
