My experience here started off great, I had two wonderful appointments however on my second appointment I had ordered contact lenses and the manager suggested I get it shipped to me. Generally shipping is fine with my building however the contacts got delivered on the week of Christmas I was away from home for the holidays and not only my contacts but everyone in the building had their packages stolen. I informed the team about this and they just kept telling me that they will update me soon. This was almost a year ago, I’m exhausted of calling because no one will help me. I wasted hundreds of dollars and now I’m forced to order my contact lenses from Hubble.

I had a frustrating experience with this location. During my visit, I was only informed on-site that I needed to switch providers, which was not communicated in advance. This lack of transparency was already inconvenient. After the visit, I requested an itemized bill needed for insurance reimbursement. I called and was told I would receive a response, but no one ever followed up. I’ve had to reach out multiple times with no response, which has delayed my ability to submit my claim. This lack of communication and follow-through is very disappointing. If you need documentation for insurance purposes, I would recommend confirming in advance whether they are able to provide it.

Well, lost me as a client/patient permanently. I’ve spend over 1k here in the last year on glasses, am up to date on all my exams with this provider. My contact lens shipment is delayed so I walked over hoping for 2-3 days of samples to tide me over. I was told that to get samples I would need a new full medical eye exam and new contact exam, even though mine are up to date, totaling $210, just to get a few days of samples to tide me over. Ridiculous and extortion. EDIT - just walked in off the street to a different provider who was able to help me in five minutes.

Optician was thorough and efficient in her eye assessment. Staff was very helpful with assisting me in the best frames and optics for me. Overall it was an easy, pleasant experience. Excellent customer service.

If you are looking for a luxury experience or a deep, individualized consultation for high-end eyewear, look elsewhere. Despite the branding, the atmosphere here is strictly "bro-vibe": unprofessional, shallow, and entirely uninterested in the technical or aesthetic needs of the client. The real issue, however, isn't just the lack of substance; it’s the administrative negligence. - Withholding Medical Records: After my exam, they ignored multiple requests to send my prescription and visit notes. Under FTC regulations and NY law, providing a copy of your prescription is not a "favor", it is a requirement. - Total Communication Blackout: I contacted both the W 87th St store and their corporate HQ. They didn't just delay; they completely ignored every email. - Zero Competitive Edge: When mainstream chains like Warby Parker or LensCrafters can handle basic communication and legal compliance seamlessly, there is zero reason to patronize a "boutique" that operates with this level of dismissiveness. This isn't a premium service; it’s an expensive headache. Save yourself the frustration and go to a business that actually respects its customers and the law. The doctor was okay, thus two stars, but also nothing special at all, didn’t even answer to questions properly (I didn’t have Dr. Li)
